MBNA Smart Cash Credit Card - any feedback

Hi,
I recently applied for this credit card and was approved based on my US credit history. However, they are requiring me to fax a proof of address before they send the card. I just want to know if anyone here has had experience with this bank and what can you say about your experience? Thanks in advance.

I have had an MBNA credit card for years. I haven't had any problems with it. I don't know this particular card you speak of but just make sure you read the small print.

It is called Platinum Plus. It is a free card. You can see it here: http://www.mbna.ca/popular_cardList.html

There are all kinds of free cards out there. Just pick one that suits your needs. Doesn't matter which.

If you shop at Canadian Tire on a regular basis, you might want to get their card. As you use it, you collect 1% of your purchases in Canadian Tire money which you can use any time you visit a Canadian Tire store and pay with your card, see https://www.ctfs.com/Products/CreditCards/

If you stop at Superstore, you might want to get their card. You will collect points you can use to buy at Superstore, however limited at having a minimum of $20 worth of points before you can use them, see http://www.pcfinancial.ca/english/credit-cards/pc-mastercard

If you plan to owe on it for long term though, you would look for a card with a low interest rate.

MBNA is good CC,
I got one in UK and they agreed to transfer my existing limit it to Canada straight away,
They advice me to took my £ CC to Canada and once reach there just call and give them your Ca address. They will send me new Ca card with similar credit limit what I have in UK.
Then I can close my UK credit card account by paying balance via my saving or using my Ca card.

American express got similar procedure too

Thanks for this Aquib. I didn't know this was possible. I also have an MBNA cc here in Ireland. I will be exploring this option.

PS: One quick question. Was this information provided by the UK MBNA office or the Canadian office?

Hsbc - get there premier account and they will transfer your credit card to most of country .

American Express - http://www.americanexpress.com/global-card-transfers/

For MBna speak to your customer service .

I have this card and it's good. They send you lots of promotions for low/no interest balance transfers if that's something you're interested in. I think they sell your phone number to telemarketers though. I often get calls for MBNA related products (insurance etc) and once they have you on their list they call A LOT!

I had an American Express card for awhile but a couple years ago a lot of places (especially grocery and clothing stores) in Canada stopped accepting it. Not sure if that's still the case but something to consider.

Because transaction fee is high when a business runs a card
