MBA not recognized

Hi guys,

WES evaluated my BBA and MBA degrees and gave me a report saying 'bahelors degree (4 yrs or more)' in the evaluation summery. For the MBA they say 'masters degree from unrecognized institute'. So I assume i can't claim '2 or more degrees' in express entry?


What are my options now. Already maxed out on ielts.

Right now.. if my wife does her ielts, we will get approx 420 points.

You can claim points for one bachelor and not for Masters..

Just a question. The place where I did my MBA is listed as accredited by the authorities in UAE (where I did my MBA). Is this what they mean by recognized, or does WES have to recognize them?

WES has its own criteria for recognizing institutions so its not the country authorities but WES that decides

Ah.. that sucks.. so I assume, not much will come out of trying to convince them to take another look at it (which I will do anyways).

I guess that leaves only one more question. Will it make sense to get an evaluation done by one of the other ones like ICAS or CES? or do they follow a similar guideline?

I could even live with them considering it as two or more post secondary, but they rules out my MBA outright, so I loose a lot of points (and any chance of an ITA).

Skdubai, no point in challenging their decision. They have their own set of criteria for evaluating studies out of Canada.

Better concentrate your efforts on adding points through some alternative ( French exam, ielts, etc)

Dear seniors,

I have completed my BBA & MBA from same University & with same major/subject. While sending documents to WES what should i do for the followings:

01. Do i need separate WES application form (to be signed by the exam controller) for separate degree??
02. Do i need to put those in separate envelope?? one for BBA & one for MBA. OR I need to put them together in a single envelope???
03. I am sending documents for me & my wife. Will it be wise to send them through same DHL/FedEx envelope to minimize cost??

I obtained my MBA from chifley business school in UAE and am afraid it won't be recognized in canada. As per your knowledge would WES recognized it.
Chifley business school, is that where you got your MBA from.

I obtained my MBA from chifley business school in UAE and am afraid it won't be recognized in canada. As per your knowledge would WES recognized it.
Chifley business school, is that where you got your MBA from.

If I am right, Chifley Business school is Australian.

If your degree program does not mention your campus location, it will be evaluated as an Australian degree.

Hi Skdubai I have the same problem than you. Did you try with another body like ICAS or CES? Does it make sense?
