Montreal is such a great City, French and English are commonly speaking, Indy as well, Spanish, Italian, and so on,,,
If you know french you will be fine in Montreal, if you know both you will feel such a fish in the sea
The French i know is very basic. Moreover learning French while pursuing MBA seems to be a daunting task. I would love to invest in learning French and working in montreal, but shifting my focus to French right now would not be a great idea i think.

I also went to a Lycee Francais for my whole secondary school so I speak French and have had many friends that went to U of M or HEC. Haven't had to write or speak French on a daily basis for almost 20 years so I'm pretty rusty!

It's not that people don't like French but learning French while taking on an NBA program is not a good idea. Yes the Quebec economy has been doing well after many decades of serious challenges. Not sure I would consider it as dynamic as a few other provinces. The cost of living is lower than many other provinces although inching up.
you could do it, it is like playing baseball during attending school

You can live in Montreal without speaking French. Knowing technical French for an MBA without years of schooling in French would be extremely challenging. Born in Montreal and yes it is a nice city but not my first choice for English language business opportunities.
