Hello everyone...

I started this thread to gather all info about MBA for immigrants..
If you hold an MBA, or if you are planning to study it in Canada after going there..

- How you know it's accredited in Canada
- Is it related to the regulated jobs and non regulated ones?
- Is it preferred to be added in the CV? or not at first?
- Will an MBA ease your life in Canada? during the first year or after?
- if you are planning to study MBA or PhD in Canada will they be funded? how? to which extent?

I believe your posts will make a bigger list than this one :)

I once planned to study in Canada after my undergraduate but later cancelled the plans. However, I managed to secure admission letters from two schools. After completing my MSc I once again secured student admission from Ontario Western University (OWU) which I deffered till later date because of my family.
Now to answer your questions:
1- almost all universities in Canada are accredited (in classroom lectures) unlike online that you have to do your research. It is illegal to operate unlincensed schools including colleges in North America (Canada/USA).
2-Whether it is regulated or not depends on the profession. Those regulated include all medical professionss (DRs, RNs, LPNs, Dentists, Phamarcists etc) See the thread below:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/regulated-and-nonregulated-professionsmaking-plans-before-landing-t63552.0.html
3-Whether having MBA in canada will easy your life is a matter of luck. It is hard to determine fate.
4-As an international student studying in Canada, there is no express funding for your study-at least not in the first year. It is advisable to assume that there will be no funding, although there might be other programs that might qualify for some break after some time.

thanks bro for these info..

Personally, I'm more interested in the career path for an MBA holder..
I'm an MBA Marketing and PMP certified..

I keep on reading/hearing that I have to forget about it for some time, till I settle down in Canada and then I can bring it up to the top..
I dunno if this is right or not,

thanks :)

Hi xony,

Professionally I'm Organic Chemist but since last two years I'm doing MBA in Supply Chain in my home country along with job. My MBA program will be completed by this year end.

I'm looking forward to continue my studies in this emerging Supply Chain field in Canada as well & hoping to get entry level job in the same field.

Any suggestions for good college or university programs in Supply Chain fields in Toronto or in it neighborhoods & future prospective? :)

Thanks.

Hello phdmaker..

There are a lot of universities in Toronto that you can find a list of some of them here:
http://www.toronto.ca/quality_of_life/universities_colleges.htm

But from a lot of researches and asking friends who did study there in Canada, they are telling me that the biggest and most reputable ones are
University of Toronto: http://www.utoronto.ca/
and University of Waterloo: http://uwaterloo.ca/

Supply Chain Management has a big demand worldwide nowadays because basically it saves the company a lot :)

All the best, and if I get any more info I'll post them promptly

Cheers,
xony
