2.bring CBSA report, if you have 1. otherwise, pr card, landing paper r good enough

Hey u4g5,

This is actually inaccurate. In the test invitation CIC tells citizenship applicants what additional documents to bring to the test-day, including the documents you aforementioned. I know that you are not by any means intentionally trying to mislead people as you are a long-time contributor here, but please be careful with the information/advice you share.

Hey guys, I got my oath invitation... almost there!

Application Received: May 28
Start processing: July 31
Test letter dated: Nov. 12 (received in two days)
Test date: Nov. 27
Oath letter dated: Dec. 3 (received in two days)
Oath date: Dec. 18

Office: Mississauga
Type: Single Applicant

Got a letter in the post few minutes ago, citizenship test on Dec 17th
:) ;)

Glad to see movements in Scarborough office for test invites. rm34, Congrats on the test invite.

Time to start studying seriously :P

So I havent received a letter yet but I called CIC and they told me they have sent me a test invite for Dec 23rd as well. Given this is close to Christmas time (and i don't trust canada post), can I show up for the test even when I don't have the letter?
The CIC agent was kind enough to tell me the date/time and location of the test (at Scarborough), and send me an email telling me what documents to bring. Anyone has any ideas?

OMG!!!! I AM FLIPPING OUT OVER HERE!!!! :D :D :D :D :D JUST RECEIVED OATH INVITATION FOR DECEMBER 19TH!!! :) :) :) GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Yes you can show up without the letter, they can pull up your letter online. Typically, you would take:

All passports since you landed as PR - starting from the one that has your landing stamp
All PR cards in possession
Your Landing paper or COPR
Translations if any of your passport stamps are not in English or French
any supporting evidence you submitted during your application to prove residency (if you have travelled a lot, they will ask you for more proof during the interview) - carrying an employer letter or T4s would help

Hi

I just got a letter for test date on dec 15th.

I have booked a vacation for a week and I am not here on Dec 15th.

Any one has any idea, if I call to reschedule how long it will take to get another test date?

Thanks

No one can tell. It really depends on the local office. Some offices issue a test date as early as 3 weeks from the original invite. But it's typical to reschedule.
