I don't think she should. No one knows for sure she'll get the test in December, so it's best to leave her plans as is. If she's called for the test, she can make the decision to either re-schedule the test or postpone her trip.

If I were you I would cancel that trip right now. December is about the time you will have your test and even if you take the test before, you still need to be here waiting for the oath.

Good morning all,

Just checked ecas and the recieved line has dissapeared.

How do I add my timeline at the bottom just like some of you have?

Recieved May 22
In process July 22
Receieved AOR August 22
Received line dissapeared I think September 8 --> didn't check ecas for about a week : /

I think you will need a minimum of 10 posts to do that. When you have 10 posts, click on PROFILE tab on the top, then on the left column: under 'modify profile' click on 'Forum Profile Information' add the things you want to display under your profile.

I concur.

From CIC:
If you are not available on that date, contact the Call Centre. We will schedule your test on a different date. If you do not attend the test, you must contact the Call Centre or we will close your application.

So if they schedule your test for while you're away, simply call them and reschedule it. The only concern is the delay you'll now have -- but that's better than the cost of rescheduling a trip.

Thanks for letting me know. Not sure if the line dissapearing has anything to do with the process but just wanted to share the progress :)

Yes, a few times actually and they said the latter has been mailed on Aug 11

Hello,

Does anybody know the contact info for CIC as I wanted to check my application status.

ECAS said that they received my application May 15, send booklet May 15, started processing July 17.

Until now I did not received any booklet.

Thanks a lot.
Ed

CIC call centre #: 1-888-242- 2100
By the way, eventhough ecas says they sent AOR + book on May 15, they actually send them when they begin processing - July 17th. Mine took about 1 month, but your is well over a month so it makes sense to check with the call centre. I won't be surprised if it arrives this week.

Hi There,
Just looking to update the forum on my status:

Application received May 20th, 2014
Started processing on July 23rd, 2014

I received my Discover Canada booklet in mid to late August.

Called CIC and was advised my application has not been received by the local office yet (it's still in Sydney) but it's in the process of preparing to send.
My received line has not disappeared yet.

Wanted to ask the forum: I'm looking to book a 2 week vacation for last week of November, first week of December. Given that my application is not even in the local office, should I bother? What do you suppose the time line will be?

Ok...after several calls to CIC and hearing conflicting information from different agents, here's my application status:

Application received: May 26th
In process: Aug 11th
AOR Letter: Mailed on Aug 11 (still not received!!)
Application is still in Sydney

Good luck to all!

That all depends on your local office, and such.

That said, if you were called to take the test during that time, are you in such a rush to get your citizenship that you couldn't wait a month or two longer and delay the test date?
