I called CIC today and I am in queue for oath ceremony. Once they have a date they will let me know at least 2 weeks before. :) The agent said he has never seen a citizenship application processed that quick.

if u get oath in 1 month, then ur whole process took 4 month, record setting!

Have any other May applicants received their test notices yet? Hope things go faster for everyone, so we all have some good news.

Where is your location? That was really quick.

I have no news, I sent in an Urgent request for my proof of citizenship. It arrived a week and half ago, and nothing has changed. The application is still in process. From what I've found for previous people who had urgent processing were normally completed within a week from the time the request was received.

So, this tells me using the reason of needing an SIN to seek employment and access benefits, does not work. Even though they clearly have it listed as a reason to request urgent processing. :(

With employment, I think they are referring to cases where a person is employed but needs to be a citizen for the offer to be extended, or needs it to be hired and usually a letter from said employer helps, etc.

Without a job offer, obtaining a SIN is really not an emergency, neither is accessing benefits. I don't think it goes over well talking about accessing benefits, when the resources are already spread thin, and paid for by taxpayers. You may need to apply for jobs and if you get an offer, use that as a supporting factor for urgent processing.

I think what you may have missed in some of my previous posts in this board is that I am a citizen by descent. I'm not applying for grant of citizenship. Since I have never had proof before because I was born abroad, then I have no access to any of the rights Canadians have. Make sense?

"Examples of when we may process an application for proof of citizenship urgently are:

You need a citizenship certificate to travel to or from Canada because of a death or serious illness in your family.
You need a citizenship certificate to prove you are a Canadian citizen to get a job.
You need a citizenship certificate to access benefits like a pension, a Social Insurance Number, or health care."
