Hi ALL,

After all the issues I had last week with regard to receipt of my application/processing by CIC - Finally my ECAS status is active. I see two lines

Name Received
Name In Process

In the " In Process" - this is what it is mentioned:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 5, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on May 5, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on July 28, 2014.

There is a coincidence that the processing started on the same day I applied for ATIP notes/ called CIC multiple times to find out application status. Because my application is received on May 5th, sent on May 1st... But they started processing late ( July 28th) - Anyhow - They started it at last....that is main thing...

Hi everyone,

I've submitted my application on May 23rd and until date, there's nothing on the cic site that states my file is being processed however, when I just checked the spreadsheet where everyone enters their application details (at that time, I had just entered the date the application was received by cic), I've noticed the Ecas - In Process (IP) date has been updated (July 17th). I know it wasn't me who put the date!! Any idea how this could have happened? Is this date an estimate or something?

My bet is that it happened when someone resorted the sheet. Not everybody knows how to run a spreadsheet, and it's likely some data got confused.

Called CIC and agent told me they r currently working on application received by May 29th.
usually call centre indication is a bit behind the actual schedule so i do assume some applicants whose file arrived on june 2nd is being open and processed.

i personally think the data entry clerk made a typo but it is nothing to worry about.

I would actually bet that it is a timezone issue... but that's just me.

Personally, the whole eCas thing is a bunch of baloney. The fact that the system doesn't appear to have changed in the last four years (when we were doing the PR app) says a great deal.
