Yes it is allowed and there is nothing to worry in that

So you need to do nothing extra. You can use your existing Study Permit and can study in any institute.

The CIC web site says "yes" and that here is nothing else you have to do.

I am not sure about this because on my study permit there are three conditions,
1. Unless authorized prohibited from engaging in employment in Canada.
2. Attendance at the university, college or institution specified by the immigration officer.
3. Must leave Canada by xx-xx-xxxx
And she has clearly stated my intuition as University of new Brunswick. What u guys say about it,, well I have cross checked with some of my friends they all have these three conditions and someone told me they are standard,,

You may change your school, program and/or field of study without applying for a new study permit. You do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either. You may continue to use your study permit as long as it is valid.
If you are changing your level of study (e.g., bachelor’s to master’s), you do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either.

what if we change the course from 1 year pg certificate to 2 year advanced diploma?? can we get our study permit extended for 2 year??

please also share does this change in level of study acceptable to CIC or not?? as on the CIC website it is mentioned that if you changed your level of study you still can use the same study permit no need to apply for a new one e.g if u changed from bachelors to masters u dont need to apply for separate permit..

my question is if i change my level of study from 1 yr pg certificate to 2 yr advanced diploma having co-op option, does this change in level of study is permissible???

Will CIC have any objection on this change in level of study and refused to extend study permit? because some people say that if u go from pg certificate to diploma u r downgrading the level of study and some people say that there is no problem in doing that both courses are of same level..

please if u could please clear this confusion..

As long as it's PG program, you won't have any issues even in extending your study permit. However, what i really wonder if you can get co-op program coz that would need the study permit changed as well (lets see what others have to say on this).

you mean to say there is no problem in changing the course from pg certificate to 2 year advanced diploma..isn't it??
