Hi PR Gurus.. I have submitted my application on May 11 under CEC and its been 2.5 months, there is not a single update since then. Not even the review of medical result. Should I presume that the officer will update everything at one time? not getting a clue what is happening.. need your expert comments guys..
Hi, my aor is also may 11th under CEC, I have heard that due to numerous applications, the process has been slowed down but i am not quite sure about that. I love to hear exact reason for delays.

Thank you so much for the detailed response my friend! This will be very helpful to others who paid RPRF later on. Appreciate it:)
Hi Gurik, when you get your visa, please kindly let us know if the expiry date on the visa is a year from the date of your medical exam or 6 months from the date of issuance. I have wondered about that...
Thanks in advance, and congrats once again

For IP1, the wording is "Your application is under process. We will let you know when we start your background check."
For IP2, the wording is "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."

I am a CEC applicant and my BG status says 'We are processing your background check. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.' It is in this state since May 31 when my medical was passed.

For CEC applicants, I guess the wordings are same for IP1 and IP2. For FSW applicantes, whose BG has got updated recently, the wordings are as mentioned by Kazem.

Has any CEC applicant here called CIC to check on the current status of their application?

I am a CEC Applicant as well where in mine stays in that IP1 wording since May 24th. It really depends case to case basis as I see but the Path in norm is from Medicals to IP1 to IP2 to PPR though for few the norm is not followed :( making it a bit confusing and complicated

Yes I've seen that CEC have the IP2 wording for their IP1's but thats the thing, we don't know for sure if it is actually IP1...maybe your IP1 and NA was only there for a few hours and you missed it, and it went straight to IP2...in which case you should expect PPR next :)

Point is, we can only guess at whats happening with the statuses, CIC have a mind of their own.

You can call them up and check where you applications at.

Has been stuck in IP1 for two weeks now. Should I be worried? Thanks!

Not at all! The trend is a file stays in IP1 anywhere from 1 - 30 days. So don't sweat it, it'll become NA soon!

Hello

I'm just filling APR.
When filling family info for my daughter, wife . Do I repeat again same members for each ?

I'm applying alone. Will sponsor them later. R they considered in application or not ?

I have been struck in IP1 for almost 2 months now!! Is there a call in number to CIC that I can call and ask about the status and reason for holding or should I send an email? The FAQ showed that if the delay is 6 weeks above the Processing times specified in the CIC website then we should call and I wasnt sure if its a good idea to call given thats what is written there. Please advice.

There has been an unusual pause in CEC applications; some haven't even passed meds yet.

Emailing won't do you much good as your app hasn't passed 6 months yet (You probably misread on the website, it's 6 months not 6 weeks), but you can definitely give them a call and ask:
