You should have gotten AIP shortly after the pre arrival letter. With that, apparently, you can get a work permit if you are out of status but I haven’t figured out how to apply for it. If you figure it out, let me know.

I did send in an OWP application together with my PR application, but I haven’t gotten any updates regarding OWP… I also do not have access to any tracking because I have a immigration consultant as representative.

Also haven’t received any updates since the pre arrival letter on October 31st. Might be longer for me as it’s a « complex » application.

Oh if you are using a representative they might receive emails on your behalf. So they would have your AIP email. Do you have access to the tracker or the gckey?

They said that they haven’t received anything since the pre arrival letter and I haven’t been able to link my application to my account as it can only be linked to 1 account. Signing up for tracker is not working for me - I’ve tried multiple times.

Ugh that’s annoying. Well I got AIP 5 days after the pre arrival letter so they likely have it. Do you need it for anything? If so maybe call and ask them to send it again. If not, sit tight.

Well, Don't worry. this is normal. Some profiles go into hibernation for a while. The same thing happened to me.
I had the last update a couple of months ago and then nothing.

mine was updated too, even on closed applications (closed few months back), more like a database update.

Hi Everyone,

I applied for my parent's visitor visa on October 12th. They completed their biometrics on October 15th but I got a visa refusal(on dec 11) for them. I was inviting them for a month because I am pregnant (Due in end of March 2025). I am here on work permit and my husband is a Canadian citizen and my spousal permanent residence application is left with background verification. My parents showed 30,000 cad bank balance and 1.5 million dollars property evaluation signed by Indian CA. They also showed their business and tax returns from last 3 years. My mom is house wife and my dad run two business. This is the refusal message they received.

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR .I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)."

Can someone help in figuring what must have gone wrong? I thought inviting them into Canada on parental support during my pregnancy would be a solid reason to get the visa quickly. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
