Could you explain please, how adding additional documents would confuse visa officer? VO could skip any document they want to, and see the ones they need to see. How come additional documents would cause any delays in processing? just trying to understand, thanks
See, for any additional information they have to spend some time to rationalize whether this document is relavant or not. Given the human nature, the more variables you throw at a person, it becomes harder or longer to take a decision. Put yourself into VO shoes. What makes your profile good. Focus on that problem and try to solve with less complexity. Here, simplicity is key. You don't scan and send all your registered property docs and ask them to verify the details to support your financial independence.. right? If you are here to stay for one year, show them same worth amount in any form. You get it right?? Simplicity is the key.

As you have 6 years of work exp .. didn’t you send any proof like ITR, payslips etc ?

No, they didn't ask for it. Unless specified, I did not send any document. For ex, in National Identity Document, I mentioned aadhar. So, that's one additional with SOP. That's all.

But SOP is also not the required documents for Indian SDS applicants, then why did you add SOP?

I have uploaded ITR, payslips and joining letter along with my application as a proof of employment .. not sure if it will delay the process or raise any suspicion .. as these are additional documents and not mandatory

I believe , you did good . You have shared all ITRs, payslips and joining/relieving shows your proof of continuous work in the gap years. Proactively giving info is better for trust.

In other docs, it says that you may include letter of explanation or any additional documents. It's upto you and your profile what are the documents you feel must be included at the end of the day. Not necessarily same for everyone

I'm afraid I didn't mean to imply that more documents are harm in any way. I only meant you do provide docs that you feel necessary. It's upto you to decide.

Exactly, everyone's case is different. Some people need to include more documents to make their case strong. A brilliant student with great grades, no gap, the top-tier university may go with minimum documents.

Okay. I have all the things you mentioned in my profile except nothing great that you may feel. I have 6 years gap, 13 backlogs, held 4 jobs in different streams, I do not have sponsor. Self funded. Yet, it is only SOP.
