That's not the right way to proceed though, Ircc clearly states that if they need any additional documents they'll ask for it. If someone simply uses webforms or emails about application changes it can actually lead to a delay.
Proof= Don’t mail us changes for your contact or application information. If you do, we won’t acknowledge your request and we won’t update your application. This could lead to a delay in processing your application.

Those are just generic points, they can't give definite answers yet to when folks are likely to receive answers. Let our decisions suit the best for us.
The moderator in the webinar clearly indicated that the AIP are not issued for the applications who deferred but did not upload the latest LOA.
That’s the tricky situation for them too. They are not updating the accounts but then there are regular notifications from IRCC where they ask to stay in contact with them through social handles ie twitter and Facebook.
We've had multiple situations where students were given sp after the intake started, so they just used the approval for the next intake and only after the approval they informed of the intake change with the use of webform.

If Study permit application is in-process:
After a study permit application is submitted (150 days or less)
If less than 150 days have passed since the intended program start date, officers should continue to process the study permit application.
After a study permit application is submitted (more than 150 days)
If more than 150 days have passed since the intended program start date, officers should request a new letter of acceptance from the applicant to confirm if the student has deferred their enrolment to a later date. Officers should follow the instructions concerning Requests for additional documents on open applications and allow 90 days for the applicant to respond.

If Deferred Intake after SP has been approved :
you just need to bring the initial LOA intake and the deferral LOA intake at the POE

Hi, all!! For some reason, I did not get hussainkestrel comment. But here I reply to both your questions. Finally I did not re-apply. I came to Canada with the original Study permit issued (but remember I had the new Letter of Admission from the college with the deferral date), so at the POE I showed everything as requested and they just remind me my Study permit expired on June 2018. So, like 40 days before the expiry date I applied for extension as well as Temporary residensy (it's done in the same process, your study institution helps in the process of getting the paperwork, or you may contact me via this forum when the time arrives) and it came about 6 weeks after. Mind you! One thing is the Study permit extension and the other is the visitor visa which allows you to enter/leave the country. That you have to renew it once your Study permit extension arrives.
So hussainkestrel andFMAS, you can enter the country with all the documents to present at request at POE (original and revised/updated Letter od Admission) and remember to ask for extension when it is the time.
IMPORTANT !!! Check the times for each of your countries as regards the extension application. Each case is different, so maybe you have to request with some more anticipation than what I did.
