Thank you for replying. Can you please share/help me with any link of cic saying application not accepted until sponsor is in Canada? I tried to find but did not get it.
It states PRs must be resident in Canada. It would be stupid to risk submitting when you are not physically present.

Hi guys,

My wife's sponsorship application status changed to DM last week but she didn't get PPR, she sent an email to visa office about it and they answered:
"Please be advised that this file has been preliminarily assessed and is currently in the queue for the secondary review."
Can you please tell what does this means? and how long it takes for second review?

Thank you so much.

Here my Situation. Hey @Krissh2179 can you shed some light into this.

Went for a long vacation to visit my spouse in my home country from April 2nd week to May last week then from our home country we submitted spousal PR application in the middle of May and then I the sponsor returned to Canada in the end of May.
Would this lead to a return of application?? since I the sponsor was not in Canada when we submitted the application CIC?
any updates on your case?

we have received the pre-arrival services letter, after a few weeks we asked them what is going on with the file ,and they sent us exactly the same email you got, i don’t really know if we should worry or not

Is there anyone on this thread who landed in December 2020? I'm curious about the timeline receiving the PR card... our landing was December 6, 2020 and we're still waiting for the PR card to come in the mail.

Received pre arrival letter in Nov. But then was asked to update pcc and travel and background. Now have been asked to update medical. Well if it is going to take another year to review the file again, I would prefer to delay medical to save some costs because obviously our file is very complex..

Not a guarantee, but if they are now asking for the second medical, it is more likely because they are close to a decision.

Obviously I say this knowing nothing about your file, but at this point if you don't do medical - after it's been requested - it likely will delay your app.

It's possible this is the only thing missing for a final decision.

Our daughter applied in April 2019 and she finally landed in Canada in November 2020. She got her pr card a week ago.

Thank you for sharing! Glad to hear someone else's timeline. I was getting worried because others were saying that on ECAS they could see updates on their PR Card status after they landed, but I didn't see that and thought it was missed somehow. My husband just got his PR card! Sounds like 2-3 months between landing and PR Card is the current typical timeline.
