i got finger print request.. it says you can do finger prints at your local Rcmp or through Rcmp accredited agency..
which one is faster ?

You can arrange to have them taken through:

• your local police service
• the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
• an RCMP-accredited fingerprint company

If you are from other locations, you can google and find out. I think in Edmonton RCMP them-self have an office for FP alone.

It is just 15 minutes work and they send the FP electronically to RCMP and in turn RCMP will send it to respective IRCC address by Postal Mail. The above people are just Middle Men to collect FP on the machine and send it RCMP.

Time frame is almost same. RCMP or agency.

If anyone called IRCC to know the FP status. I have called IRCC since I have done my FP on Oct 11 which is still not reached in IRCC. If anyone has done FP and processed already for next steps how long does it take to get done the FP search by RCMP usually? Thanks in advance.

If I am not wrong You just called ircc to enquire about fingerprints and received test invite immediately.
I’ve done fingerprint on 25th sep and still no news from their side. Should I call also ? What’s your processing city ?

I called them and emailed them via IRCC web form to know my status if they have received my FP results. They informed me that they have not received anything from RCMP that may be a reason for high volume of FP requests to RCMP which may take longer period of time. It also may a be a coincident that in an hour once I called and emailed them I got test request and still I am not sure if they have received my FP result or not since I also requested RCMP yesterday to know know my status, RCMP told me they have not done my FP search yet and they dont know how long it will take to finish. In my opinion you have all the right to know about your application status since we are nothing but a client to IRCC.

Hm, strange. As far I am aware they need 1-3 working days to compete the fingerprint search. I did not mail ircc but I sent an email to the concerning office that requested my finderprint search and they replied that they have received my fingerprint. So now I guess I’d just wait for next steps.

I called IRCC today about same matter. They told me they don't have any information on file about FP.
Also, she told me that they might got it by now and they have 30 days to process it, in other words, she told me that they can have unopened envelope with results for no more than 30 days.
Asked me to call back on 30th day after I provided FP.

This remind me of that. Also from IRCC.

If your request is complete, it will be processed within 30 calendar days from the first day following its receipt, unless an extension is taken.

Please note that due to the volume of requests that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) processes, it is not unusual for responses to be sent late in the day of the due date.

For me it seems like they do everything in the last moment and they even pointed that out.

Hi,
I got email from CIC today to write my test on 26 November at Calgary. I have my certification exam on the same day, and if i call CIC to change my date do you think it will be long wait for me. I am June applicant but just wanted to ask in the May thread as lot of you have done the test and also might have faced similar situation. Can you please share some information about changing date for Test, any guidance will be much appreciated thank you.
