Hello,

I just applied for citizenship this week.
Is anyone here who is a PR via an express entry ? if yes, I'm curious to know if there is any difference in application timelines.

Yes it will take 3 years for those in express entry

Well even in Montreal sometimes it takes 11-12 months. I know lots of people. But in general faster A BIT than Toronto. All the best for you

I just don’t care about it loll it takes 12 months or 24 months it is not a rush

it shouldn't be any difference, once you're a PR you are a PR, and once you've accomplished the requirements to apply for citizenship (time, languages, and so on) it would take the same amount of time than for anyone else. why would it be any difference ?

Hi Everyone,

Can somebody please tell me if I am supposed to send a copy of my renewed passport to IRCC? I renewed my passport after I sent my application package. Currently no details of my new passport are mentioned anywhere.

If yes, how do I send it? I have my test scheduled for Nov 1.

You don't have to send IRCC anything. Take your old and new passports with you to the test, as the officer will want to have a look at them during the interview.

Hello. can someone please reply. i checked ecas my application is in process since october 2nd and says we sent correspondence on october 10th but i did not get any email or mail. what to do ? we dont need test as we are seniors .

May be a finger print request, suggest you give the call centre a ring (1-888-242-2100) and ask them to have a look at your file. The letter could take 7-15 days to arrive, and also check your e-mail's spam folder.

thankssss alot for the reply. i got acknowledgment letter to my email address but when it changed to process no email and now i checked it says we sent correspondence on oct 10 but i checked my email spasm too but no email. so do they mail too ? or they just use email. i requested email as correspondence and i recieved acknoledgment to email . do people get mail too even if they got acknowledgment letter to email

You don’t get an e-mail when it changes to in process/decision made. Yes, they send correspondence via snail mail too. Which is why they ask for your mailing address in your application.

Spouse and I both got our test date notices today.... test date is Nov 7th!
Exciting that things are starting to move along but thought we’d get more than 3 weeks notice for the test... best get studying!
