May 2018 - Citizenship Applicants

Man, if I knew a stamp was going to cause such a delay, I would have insisted they stamp his passport. Officer told my husband when he wrote the test last month, that they needed to request entry records from CBSA because they didn't stamp his passport when we returned from Mexico earlier this year.

Maybe we should have just requested these records before we sent the application and saved all this extra waiting haha.

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I received an email from citizenship Canada saying "CONGRATULATIONS! You've reached the next step in the Citizenship process. You have an upcoming appointment". it didn't say if that this is a citizenship test. Does anyone received any letter like this before?

Scroll down there should be a PDF file at the bottom of that email that will you have your test invitation letter with all the details

Hi, yes there is a pdf file with the details of the appointment, but it didn't say it is a written test or what type of appointment it is.

The previous agent would be right. This happened with me once and the third agent confirmed that verification means that they are looking at the information provided in the application which is a routine stuff. Do not worry !

You are right . We are also in process since August 13 , I was hoping it will be faster for me because I renewed my PR in Feb 2018 ( which also took from April 2017 to Feb 2018) so not sure what background check they are talking about if they did it for the PR few months ago already .

Similar situation. my passport (my home country) will expire in 6 months.. and I need to travel to US multiple times next year. Looks like I have to renew my current passport..will it even slow down the process for CDN citizen?
