Just wait until you see the analyst recommendations in your GCMS Notes. I understand the feeling and am sure that even the officers, if they were to be in our shoes, they will equally feel the burden of waiting endlessly without getting updated, whereas new entrants are getting approved by the day. Seriously, you don't delay an application because it is marked "review required". The applicants account should be updated, a request can be made for additional documents where necessary, then wait to see if the applicant will respond or not instead of abandoning the file all in the name of remaining in a queue, and waiting for a review by an officer. Worst is, if you're ignorant of this review required issue, perhaps you haven't seen your GCMS Notes and you happen to speak to an agent, him or her will never tell you what the problem is. They will not tell you that there is a review required issue instead they will say "you are still within the normal (six months processing time)". Now imagine that you decided to call them after 5 months, and nearing 6 months; in this case they will tell you that "some applications are processed outside the normal processing time". It beats me. It surprises me to learn how some persons feel comfortable running other peoples careers. But because there's nothing one can do to salvage the situation, we'll continue to wait, but, waiting endlessly is not appropriate. It is better a decision is taken so that we can just concentrate on our careers, and pursue our dreams instead nursing thoughts of a pending application and logging in now and then to check the status of an application that has almost remained redundant. Anxiety on its own can cause health challenge.
