MAY 2017 Citizenship Applicants

I have read in the previous posts that you dont have to worry too much if you have several days allowance in your residency before appyling. This mistakes are common and the citizenship officer will understand if you have allowances. How many residency days do you have.

I have accurate dates of my visits to India, Jamaica , punta cana. But one/two visits of usa are not accurate in my case. But i have given more than enough buffer time to cover it up. In my case, it is possible that 3-4 days up or down. Usually, whatever you provide to government, they will cross verify. The purpose of the physical calculator is to make sure you were present 1460 days in Canada with 183 each year. They already asked about our consent for entry-exit from canadian border. I am applying with information I have and hopefully it should be fine.

• 183 days in each of four calendar years that are fully or partially in the six years immediately before the date of your application.

Hello everyone, just letting you know that applications that were received on or before April 21, 2017 are beginning to be processed according to CIC. Those applicants including me, who submitted their application and was received by first week of May 2017 might be receiving our AOR next week based on the timeline trend for the April 2017 applicants. It is recommended that you submit your application as soon as possible before Bill C-6 will be given Royal Assent and becomes a law since it is expected that many applications will be received by CIC as the residential requirement has been shortened to 3 years out of the 5 years and processing times will be tedious once more.

Oh thanks a lot, but if you send it to the regular mail address I believe it's P.O. box , so how can someone sign on P.O box address?

I sent mine by regular mail but paid extra for the tracking option. You can pay $1.50 extra for signature which I did not do. I mailed mine on Monday and it arrived today. I sent it to the address, not the PO box number.

So either they have delivered the package but the system has not been updated or maybe they are taking longer to deliver. I didn't know that regular mail is faster than Xpresspost as I posted my application on Sunday morning

Don't worry they will receive your application and you can track the package on the Canada post website. To track, type your tracking number and you will see an update and if received, you will see a signature I understand what you're feeling especially if you submit an important document.

Thanks for your encouragement Spelling19, I am tracking on their website for the past 4 days. Just now it says “out for delivery” but there is a small question mark underneath and when I put the cursor there it says deliver pending.
