Hello, I have a question. My wife received request for background check Nov 1st. She submitted it a week later, Nov 7. in MyCIC the status of background check changed yesterday (Dec 12th) to "in progress". Medicals are "passed", interview not needed at this time, and nothing else seems to be pending.
Anyone have ideas on how long the PPR will happen after this ?
Visa Office is in Bogota, Colombia.
Thanks !

My husband got DM yesterday. Hope PPR today!

Hey guys please I really need all your help...we submitted our application on May 5th, and this morning I just received an email saying...

Based on the evidence that you provided we are not satisfied that your marriage is genuine and/or that the primary reason for the marriage is other than for the purpose of you gaining admission to Canada. As a result, for the purpose of the regulations, you may not be considered to be a member of the family class.

In order to come to a final determination in your case we will provide you 30 days from the date of this letter to provide additional information to support the genuineness of your marriage.

You have 30 days from the date of this letter to submit additional information so that we may continue processing your application. Please note this will be the ONLY opportunity we will provide for you to submit additional evidence. Your application will be assessed in 30 days and the final decision will be based on the evidence on file at that time

From what country are you? Do you guys submit marriage certificate? Pictures from your wedding? Any evidences or proof that you guys are married?

Yeah am from Ghana and we submitted all the marriage pictures, our marriage certificate and some other pictures,I don't know what other evidence they need cuz we also submitted our lease agreement showing we live together..do we need to get a letter from our landlord and life insurance policy agent? Cuz we signed up for that too but only submitted the last payment recipt prior to our submittion...

You need to write a convincing story telling about your relationship. There may be many other things you should include as well, but this is one more thing.
1. Do both families know about your relationship / marriage? PROVIDE signed letters of support from members of both families. The letters must contact their contact information. Example, letter from brother of groom and brothers wife. Letter should say the family welcomes the wife (husband), and they have seen the couple together many times, and they are very devoted to each other, they have a genuine marriage and they are happy together. Get letters something like this from as 4 or 5 relatives or close friends.

2. Write a detailed and convincing history of your relationship, how you came to know each other, what you have in common, what you love about each other, why did you decide to get married instead of just being boyfriend / girlfriend, do you have plans together for the future (tell the plans), did your families celebrate your marriage, provide proof.

You need to say in every way possible that our marriage is real, these are letters of support from other people who agree our marriage is real, we are devoted to each other, the purpose of the immigration is to live married life together, not simply to gain access to Canada.

I wish you good luck. There are more items than this which you should include. If I can think of more ideas I will post again later.

Hello,

Has anyone received email asking about your wife's passport yet?
My wife's application still doesn't say Medical received in status.
I think it is because I got medical done on her old passport while submitted application on new passport after name change (added my surname). ... Any one has done something similar to this before and is going through similar issue?
CIC KEY cant find application.... so I cant check detailed status. I was told that some people who applied in late may were already asked to send in passports to get visa.

Thank you for your HELP!
