Hi! :) Are we expected to stay in canada while the application is being processed? I just want to know 'cause i've been planning for a month long vacation outside the country this coming january. :-\

No, you can do whatever you want. I would be careful about accepting job offers abroad,
even though I don't think the new "intent to reside" rules apply to us.
But if it's just a vacation then you are definitely safe!

I think that the purpose of informing CIC about longer absences
is to avoid having your test/oath scheduled while you are away.

Things are quite quite today :(

I just called cic, the automated answer machine says they reached May 12 which is not true as we see applicants from May 20 to May 27 receiving AORs!!!

They said they reached all applicants to may 2012 , you have to learn to listen :P :P

AORs RECEIVED % 49.57%
WOWOW

It looks like they are slowing down :( ....our average time from receipt of file to AOR has gone up from 35 days to 47 days :'(
Does anyone know if they require Police Certificates for absences exceeding 183 days during the 4 year period preceding the application for the old rules?
This is an explicit requirement now with the new rules effective June 11th.

No, they don't require them under the old rules, to accept an application and give an AOR. But, they might ask for them after they start processing.

Congrats! So when you log in you see all family members or you have to login separately for everyone in your family? Just curious
