Part of this law was applied on Jan 1st, 2015 with no notice. So for me I won't take a chance, and I will apply as soon as I can with minimal margin.

The govt already applied some provisions of C-24 without weeks of notice, so better send your application right after YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU MEET THE MINIMUN REQUIREMENT.

I agree Jassi, if you have the exact dates and 100% sure, you should apply.

I've also read somewhere in this forum that your application should be signed and sent the day after you're eligible, in your case it would be 13th May. It's maybe true or not, but it doesn't hurt to wait another day just in case I guess.

I doesn't heart to wait but , you can apply the day u become eligible . I can sign And despatch the application on 12 th itself . It doesn't have to be 13 th. It even says on the residence calculation page that date of application should be the same on the which day you sign on it . If that page shows that I am eligible On a certain date , on that date I can sign my application . At least that's how I see it .

How is that wrong ? If the page says you are eligible on this day. So why can't I sign the same day and dispatch it . They have calculated the 1095 required days by subtracting the absence , leap day. So I don't see why I am not eligible to dispatch the same day

Although you are eligible, the guidelines say you need to sign the application day after you become eligible. Waiting 24 hours my friend is not a big deal when you've waited 3 or 4 years

No no I am not saying that I can't wait . Probably will wait for couple of days if I could have the time . But what I am trying to say is that it should be able to sign the application on same day if I want to

May be I'm misinterpreting this but this what I get from cic webpage:
You must be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship the day before you sign the application form.

Folks, can anyone tell what is the significance of RQ? And why everyone is so scared of receiving it? Is it a bad thing to get from Cic? Any particular reasons why anyone should expect it? And what does RQ contains in terms of questions??? I believe someone who is doubtful mAy get this?? I got my PR. Ard renewed last week, and am applying in 25may, so I believe CIC already scrutinized my details and stuff....?


Any ideas and advices feedbacks...will be appreciated

May be I'm misinterpreting this but this what I get from cic webpage:
You must be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship the day before you sign the application form.

i have resident calculator sheet in front of me here it says " Please make sure that date of application used in this calculation and the date of signature on the application form and on this page are the same"
