I contacted them. The agent just blankly says "Your application has been received on May 7th", which is the same thing it says on ECAS. For all other questions, including her cat's name, she says "I'm sorry sir, I do not know".

Going to MP is my next step. I was thinking of writing a letter to CIC first stating my UCI# along with more financial proof and saying, Hey I didn't get anything yet but here is a bucket load of more documentation for you. If I still don't hear anything, I will go to MP.

you can always try calling CIC again. generally, people get different answers from different agents. You might find the next person you talk to may actually be helpful and willing to send a case specific inquiry on your behalf. the only thing about CIC sending those is that it can only be done once every 90 days. At this point i would recommend calling once a week.

Yes, apparently its one per 90 days. Unfortunately for me, I used up my one golden chance the first time I called (around July 7th, after my processing time of 55 days passed). The agent had then asked for a status update from CIC, and thats when I found that my application was indeed received on May 7th. I was jubilant the following morning when I received an email from CIC saying my application was received on May 7th. I only later realized that it wasn't an official AOR, it was simply a response to my enquiry.

sometimes what they do is wait until the "bring forward date" that is listed on the request. On the letter they sent, it would have given you a specific number of days or a date to get the information in by. They could be waiting until THAT date to continue processing. There's no way for anyone to really know, because we are not CIC officers. It is very common to have to wait 2-4 extra weeks or more for SA if a document was missing. My suggestion would be to have the sponsor call CIC for an update.

After I received my SA yesterday on July 25, I ran immediately to the post office to send the Quebec documents today.

I just printed the CIC SA letter to be added to the package as well as the credit card payment form

hopefully now MICC (Quebec) works fast in order to receive the CSQ and continue with the process

I'll keep you posted with the progress

This is absolutely true. In the relatively few times that I've called, one agent may sound like he's 'shooting from the hip' - whereas another will pause, and even consult with his supervisor before giving his (or her) response. I chatted with a retired VO a few months back (a friend of a friend) and he said, we're all human and subject to moments of great clarity as well as, at times, a more subjective interpretation of 'not-so-clear' procedures...

May I ask how you found out it's not an offical AOR?

Hey CutiePie I got the CSQ. yaaaay.

You should also get your mail checked. It might be there.

Now the long wait for stage 2 begins

congrats ;D
we haven't received anything yet :( did you physically receive it in the mail box? we do have his parents address as the mailing address, maybe it arrived there ..

A sign of life on ecas this morning.

Sponsorship changed from "Application Received" to "Decision Made" and Stage 2 changed to update that Medical Received. Does anyone else's specify their visa office on theirs, because mine doesn't?
