Looks like we are back to the old processing times of 6 to 8 weeks. I just talked to a CIC call center agent and he advised me to write to the CIO if one doesn't receive a response within 6 weeks.
Are you talking about processing time to get AOR? If so, then thats actually good news because I was told 8-10 weeks

I think that he was talking about start of processing paperwork, which means charging cc/mc

Yup! I'm talking about the AOR processing time. I wasn't told directly that it was 8 to 10 weeks. I was advised to contact the CIO office after 6 weeks of CIO receiving the application and one can assume that that's how long it would normally take for CIO to issue AORs. I just went on to add that it looks like we are back to the old processing timelines of 6 to 8 weeks because that's how long it took for previous applicants to receive their AORs.

So if one doesn't hear from cio in 40 days he/she should call to check?

:( Why now, are they slowing down considering not may people are applying under CEC and they are just balancing the workload?
Only 475 / 8,000 since May 1st.
LOL - I know I am overanalyzing but it could be the case.

I just cant believe that they are this slow

Yeah.. i think it is a way to limit the amount of immigrants per year... that is the only way i can make any sense of it...

I didn't included my police check either!

That depends of the country you came from!

For Mexicans they will ask if they wanted or not if they say yes you just need to send your finger prints and they will ask your government about your records!

I can believe they don't charge cc! Is everybody checking with their banks if they charged yesterday or today! I read they only work Monday to Friday 8 to 4

I am checking every day, few times - and nothing.. I cant believe that just one cc was charged since monday. Don't know what to think about it anymore

More like after 55 to 60 days. 40 days is way too early to expect anything from CIO.

No, that's why they have application caps. slowing down processing will not help reduce the number of immigrants Canada welcomes every year.

40 days is too early to expect cc to be charged, or to receive aor?

How does it works if they dont process one's paperwork, when do they return it? What's the time frame for that? Do they give an explanation, or they simple return all paperwork?

Sorry I meant 40 days is too early to expect an AOR. Again, it looks like we are back to the old average processing time of 50 days. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is. :(

If you have a valid work permit that's not due to expire any time soon, then the best you can do is to stop worrying about the AOR. You will get it in due time.

People in the FSW forum think that the world cup is slowing down processing times. I am actually beginning to believe it :P ;)
