i mean yes i need to fill up both application. what i did was the following. please correct me if i'm wrong...Sweden said:You should be filling both, as both are needed - see the checklist and make sure that you have every form listed (except for the use of representative if you're not using one).
The strike could be slowing things down - wasn't Vienna one of the affected VOs?Sweden said:it should be working by now. Make sure you use the correct combination: File number (starting with F) + applicant info (family name only, no first name, no initial), OR UCI + sponsor info.
If it doesn't work that way, call CIC on Monday - it should start working after 3 to 4 days of being approved.
Good luck,
Sweden
Thank you so much Sweden for everything...We are very thankful to God we have people in the forum like you, with really good heart for all of us new applicants...Sweden said:You should fill out your part of the documents, sign everything, then send everything (with proofs of relationship etc, unless your husband will be taking care of that) to your husband. Then he fills out all the forms from his side, pay for the application, and send everything together to Mississauga... then you wait!
For the first stage, the communication is with the sponsor only. So your husband will get an email or a letter to tell him that he has been approved as a sponsor, and that the file is sent to Manila.
Once the file is in Manila, the communication is with the applicant - you - unless in the contact you put a representative, or your husband for example. If you want all communications to go to your husband then you can put his email address.
Once Manila opens the file, they will ask for your passport ( yours, and your younger son, not the one not included in the application). Manila asks for the passport quite at the beginning of the process, so it's difficult to say how long they will keep it... could be 2 months, or could be more. If you need to travel during that time, it will be difficult, so keep it in mind.
Once they are ready to issue the PR, they will issue a visa (directly in your passport) + a COPR (Confirmation of PR) and send both back to you - then you can go to Canada! the reason why you need a visa is because the airline staff is not trained to recognize a COPR and if you only have that you wouldn't be able to get on a plane. Instead, you will use your passport to get on the plane (with your son, he will have one too of course), and once you arrive in Canada, you can present your COPR to the border officer. There is a small "interview" when you arrive, but it's nothing to be afraid off - and it's usually very quick! it's mostly to check your passport, ask for your address in Canada so they can send the PR card, and make you sign the COPR, then you're done! (it's usually less than 10 min, and there are no tricky question or anything!).
Good luck,
Sweden
Congrats on the approval! Next step ... is more waiting! did you get your UCI and File number (starting with F + 8 digits) from them over the phone? that would allow you to have access to Ecas... however ecas doesn't say much.rj_uict said:Hi Sweden,
I called CIC today and they confirmed that my Sponsorship application has been approved and the file has been transferred to New Delhi. What are the next steps in the application and is anyone aware of the typical timeline for various steps in the application?

Hi Sweden another question please help me...Sweden said:Congrats on the approval! Next step ... is more waiting! did you get your UCI and File number (starting with F + 8 digits) from them over the phone? that would allow you to have access to Ecas... however ecas doesn't say much.
New Delhi requests the passport very early in the process, so you can also wait until they contact you, in the email requesting your passport they will have the file number and UCI. Don't get too excited about getting a passport request - in ND it doesn't mean that they are working on your file, it only means that they have received your application from Mississauga. There are a few New delhi Threads with spreadsheet that will give you an idea of the waiting times.
Good luck,
Sweden
Siblings for CIC are only brothers and sisters - no niece or nephew, cousins etc. only brothers and sisters, (in the additional information for family), and half brothers and half sisters, as well as step-brothers and sisters if any.abscott said:Hi Sweden another question please help me...
Can I just choose from among my siblings who do I want to put in family aside from my parents?
Or do I need to put all of my siblings? What about niece or nephew for instance?
Thanks a lot...

You can not choose - it's important to put all of them, otherwise it's misrepresentation. They won't be contacted by CIC, and if you lost contact, indicate their name and on a separate paper indicate that you don't communicate with them anymore if needed.

Yap, thanks a lot again SwedenSweden said:if you're applying outland ( which I assume you are), you can not get a work permit in advance. No need to send anything with the application. Once you are given the PR - you become a permanent resident, which means that you automatically have the right to work. Once you land in Canada as a PR, you can go the next day to any Service Canada, get your SIN ( social insurance number) and start working the next day ( the SIN is issued right away and is valid the same day, there is no added procedure for you to get a work permit etc).
If you're from a visa-exempt country, you can come to Canada on a tourist visa and wait out for your PR here, but you won't be able to work before you have your PR.
Hope it clarifies a little!

The Sponsor will be the one of sending the Application package Kit of (Sponsor, Applicant (you) & your dependant Application all together) to CPC-Mississauga for stage 1 processing which is for the Sponsor's Approval if he/she's eligible as a sponsor . Then once your sponsor's approved CPC-M will send your Files to Manila for stage 2 process (File Transfer) which means you the Applicant & your Dependant child for processing.abscott said:Sweden who should to send our documents to Mississauga via courier, is it my husband who is in Toronto or could it be sent from here? Hallo Jara Jovi.. in which category have u applied??jarajovi said:Hey,
we sent our application in the end of April and received the confirmation for eligibility as sponsor / file transfer to Vienna on May 17th.
I just tried to look up the application status online, but it still says "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:..."
Is it normal that it takes so long and that we're not yet in the system, even though the file has already been transferred?
I definitely entered the correct information (UCI, name, etc. ...)
Just wanted to confirm with you guys
Thanks!
