How did your interview go with your passport still being renewed? Any problems in the process?

My online status updated today to appear for Test on May 1. The issue right now is I don't have Indian passport, I applied for renewal on Saturday(12-Apr-2014). I don't think I will get my passport before Test. I am confused now whether to postpone the test or go to test without passport

Congrats! that's so fast, you didn't miss your vacation and have oath just one month later. :D

Hi everyone,

Had our Oath Ceremony today. It was a a very nice and emotional experience. A journey ends after almost 8 years (initial PR application) and a different one continues.
We even participated on the Ontario Elections today ;D.

I hope everyone the best luck in their applications a wonderful life in Canada.

Actually yes. I hoped to do it anyway. I called Election Ontario and was told that I could do it as soon as I am a Canadian Citizen. In the Ceremony we found a VOTE flyer with the flag and Citizenship package you usually find on your reserved seat. The then Judge also urged us to vote, but she told us to wait until 04:00 PM because then our names will be in the Computer.

The polling station for my address was exactly about 200 m away from the ceremony location, so I told the judge after the ceremony about what Election Ontario told me. She said: go and give it a try.
So, we went exactly 5 min after our Ceremony to the Station and asked them. They said there were absolutely no problems. They just added us manually to the Register of Electors and we could vote. I took my son with me to show him how important it is to be part of this process.

Yes, agree that was fast. Happy on one hand that it happened but also feel like they were trying to see if I was actually back in the country after I left!

Also, congrats Jes!
