Well, it seems that the pattern is that within almost 4 months from "start processing time", the applicants are getting either an RQ or test date.

A couple of examples from other threads:

Example 1:
Application received by CIC - March 28, 2013

CIC sent acknowledgement letter & book - March 28, 2013

Started processing application - May 29, 2013

RQ letter sent - Sept 25, 2013

Example 2:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 14, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on February 14, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on April 30, 2013.

We sent you a notice on August 27, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on September 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment.

FYI- March/April people are getting RQ from local office.

Nice observation jsamiraziz, but the strange thing is that NO other such update (RQ or test)mentioned by the members who applied in the months before February ,like Nov.,Dec.or Jan.??? I'm afraid it's only coincidence,..
Thanks anyway..

Agreed, 2 samples are too low to draw any statistical conclusions :-)

If one has a clear case and no RQ, then total processing time of 10 to 12 months is not unusual.

The person in Example 1 is from Scarborough. He traveled to USA, also self-employed which might trigger the RQ.

How about the Example 2 person? What's the local office?

Have you guys noticed that all 3 persons with may 27, 2013 receipt date got delayed in processing? Isn't that weird?

My application still can't be found , the CIC agent recommended that I reapply. I just don't know how hard it's for CIC to contact the immigration office in Sydney!!!

They said if my application was returned there would be a note in my file, so no note in my file and I didn't receive any returned application!

I was trying to look up contact numbers for Sydney office and I found one but when I called, it forwarded me to CIC agents!!!

Anyone aware if there is anyway to contact Sydney office?

I'm thinking to send Sydney office ( same address I sent my application to) a letter in the mail explaining to them what happened before I reapply, what do you guys think?

Your application was received by whom? Can you check and let us know?

My application was received by "Mike Y" on May 27, anyone their application was received by the same person? Not that it matters but at least I would know that it got to the right place and wasn't lost!

Kalbad20's application was received by Mike Y.

my application was received by the same person.... and got delayed

If I were in your situation, I would resend the application with a printout of the previous package tracking result, a detailed letter mentioning all the facts and asking them to process faster in order to cover the time loss.

If the package is lost, there will be no point wasting time to contact CIC offices over the phone.

Sounds like the delay was caused by the same person. I wish there is a way to take action against that particular person.
