I was about to have GCMS thru my cousin who is in Canada. but it says

Note: If you are submitting a request under the Privacy Act for information belonging to someone else, the individual to whom the information belongs must also be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada.

I am in usa.. does that mean I cannot order GCMS notes.

Hi all,

I got my passport request on Feb 10, then I added my wife to my application, we finished submitting all documents by mid March and yesterday we got passport request for both of us.

The problem is she is in India and there courier companies are saying they won't send the passport

Any suggestions to what I can do.

First of all congratulations on the new developments in your 'PR' journey.

Secondly, yours isn't the first case where applicant received a request to send PPs to CPP-Ottawa although his/her spouse was overseas; and we all know its not legal, therefore courier companies wont support, to send PPs by mail. As per my understanding from previous readings of such cases, you send your PP to Ottawa office, along with a letter explaining the situation i.e. your wife is in India and unable to send her PP to Ottawa. You would receive instructions, by e-mail, on how to send her PP to Canadian High Commission in India (New Delhi ?).

Also, one of the lines in my PPR said "If you or any of your family members are residing outside North America and you are unable to send your/their passport(s) to Canada and/or to provide a return mailing address in North America, contact us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca so that we can make arrangements to print visas at another office" - dont you see anything as such in your PPR ? - just curious - even you dont see these words in your e-mail, you can still do the same thing as i suggested above.

As always, feel free to post any questions here, and i am sure some one will guide you forward !!

Good luck.

I got excited and didnt quite read the full mail. Yes it does say that. Mailed them.

Thank you.

Hello,
I am in the same situation as you. Had you mentioned in the forms that your wife is residing outside of Canada? You are requested to send both passports (yours and you wife's pass.) to Ottawa? What did you finally do? Thanks
