Yes i also heard about this electronically process, but i was not confident about it, so i decided to go with paper stuff.
And CIC also asked to send copy to them by mail.

Thanks Arora5983...and yeah if you are comfortable with the conventional RCMP procedure then it shouldnt be a worry for you ...did they change your application status to "in process" as well...

I already applied for RCMP clearance, probably i will get it before end of this month. No my status won't change until i will send RCMP Clearance.

Sure i will, Who is your immigration officer. I think it should be written in the signature of email you got for "In process" like 'SSF' or 'SJP'

I havent got an email from my 3rd party rep yet abt this but ecas doesnt show anything...I came to know on ecas when I logged in today morning...I will let you know once I get an email from my rep...

my timeline is almost as yours but unfortunately my status did not change yet to "in process"
