Gongrats to everyone who PPR recently :D

When does CIC normally execute the following during the day:
1- Change ecas
2- Send emails

Does anyone know what documents I need to submit to prove I reside in Canada?

There are 3 steps in the PPR email: step 1. STATUS CHANGE. step 2. PASSPORT(S) REQUEST. step 3. SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS If you and your dependants reside in Canada.

I am confused on the step 3 since I am in Canada and what documents can prove this. Anyone knows?

3. Medical results have been received.

You can submit following, along with an explanation letter :

1. Your bank statement having current transaction
2. Current credit card statement
3. Any shopping receipt where you did transaction using your credit card
4. If you are staying on rent then your current rent receipt / rent payment receipt
5. Your rental agreement
6. School report card for your child

A rent contract and a driving licrnse should be enough .. if not available maybe bank statemrnt too or gas and hydro reciepts

I think there is a confusion over here. What CIC intends to communicate in the email is the way you can submit documents asked in step 1 and 2, if you are residing in Canada (i.e. by Canada post or courier). Step 3 also mentions that CIC does not send passports outside Canada. Additional documents proving Canadian residence are simply not asked for in the letter, nor required. If CIC needed such documents, they would have explicitly mentioned that in the mail. I read my PPR email and did not find a single sentence/evidence suggesting that. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Do we need to send those document? A friend of mine just told me I just need to send my passport and that's it since step one is not applicable for me.

You are absolutely right. Just send the passports. May be you can send a cover letter with passports stating your application number and UCI number, and a copy of the PPR email you got from CIC.

No, I did not get my PP back. I sent them through Xpresspost on Monday evening. The Canada Post tracking number indicates that CIC received the passports yesterday (Friday).
