I am just wondering if they look through your all documents in your application first then send you a MR (if your application reach all the requirements) or they send you MR first then look through your application documents??? Anyone has any idea about this?

I believe they do check first, or they could've sent the MR way earlier... but that's just what makes sense to me.

Hi, I am not able to login to CIC Site. Does any one facing same problem?

I doubt that any one had received over the weekend. We can expect progress again from Monday.

Hi all, my wife and I both received our Medical Requests on Saturday, Jan 25th at 8.45pm. We are May 17th applicants :)

Just looking for a quick suggestion; we have the 60 days to do the medical but we absolutely need our passports by the second week of April due to a trip we had booked. Are we safe enough to do the medicals asap and then get the passports back before then or should we wait out the days and send the passports after the trip in mid-May?

Thanks!

Hi there, I would say to go ahead and do your medicals. Once results are received by CIC and if everything is good, you should receive passport request in like a month. Once you submit your passports, you should receive them back in maybe 20 days or less based on current trends. The way I see it, you still have about 10 weeks before your trip, this should be enought time for your application to be finalized. Its your personal choice, there is no predicting how CIC will handle your case in terms of a timeline. Maybe you can wait for the opinion of others as well. Do you mind sharing your NOC code?? Thanks and goodluck.

Thanks for the info! Worst case scenario we could use our second passports but this might confuse immigration even more!

NOC Code B-6211 but we have been in Canada just over 7.5 years on various working visas.. not sure if this made a difference.

Hello All,

I am also a May 2013 applicant and just joined the forum today. My appl was received on May 6, 2013 and I received Med Req on Jan 24, 2014.
I have a quick question, my passport is about to expire within 6 months. Does this affect my immigration process? Should the passport be valid for more than 6 months at the landing time? or for the approval stamp?

Thanks,
Ferna

Congrats for all who just got their MR ... Happy to see more activity happening for May ;D

Hi Ferna,
I believe the Visa office would want more than 6 months of validity on the passport. It is usually the norm for any kind of Visa for Canada but I have no experience on landing for PR, though (yet!!). People, feel free to correct me if I am wrong! :)

Also would you mind sharing your NOC and skill code?

Thanks for your reply Prashgs, that's what is concerning me. But I was under assumption that airlines need this 6 month validity of the passport. And if you just cross the border by car, that would be OK. Not sure...
