Hi,

I had the same exact letter sent to me after 15 days of recieving my package. They had gone through my box and looked at a couple papers I guess and sent back the whole package with that pre-formatted letter. I redid my forms thinking I was at fault and resent them, but that backlogged me to 1 month. Now I am 1 month behind from my original time I sent my paperwork.

this is pretty stupid that they do such a thing they should just send a letter or email asking for the missing docs instead of sending the package back and putting us out of que.

    I just received back the package I had sent to CPC Mississauga. The letter said I was MISSING some forums on my application. I was NOT. I seemed that someone had riffled though my application quickly and hastily put the papers back together and mailed it back to me. I had intentionally kept my wife's IMM 008 and her personal info in a separate CLEAR FOLDER so that my sponsor docks would not get mixed with her sponsored docs. 2 of the listed missing docs were in there, I completed the CHECK LIST and sent all the papers. The other IMM1344 is there as well.
    
    It seems VERY clear to me that the person looking at the docks did NOT open her package.
    
    The letter states I'm missing the docs but I am not. I will call them tomorrow to find out if there could be another reason. The forums are filled out and completely signed.
    
    It seems to me someone did a rush job and sent me a PRE-FORMATTED response letter.
    
    I want to send my application back right away but I will call them first to get some answers (although I am not hopeful.
    
    This STINKS of lazy rushed work on the part of whom ever looked at my package.
    
    Has anyone else ran into a problem like this?
    
    I will likely try and file a complaint but I think it will go nowhere.
    
    
    
    The letter bellow;
    
    "Dear Sponsor,
    
    This letter refers to the application to sponsor a member of the family class which you submitted to this office. We are returning your UNPROCESSED application as we cannot process it as submitted.
    
    Regulation 10(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations sates that an application must be submitted using the forms provided by the Department, Only applications meeting R10 will be placed in the queue for processing.
    
    Your application is being returned to you, UNPROCESSED, for the following reason:
    
    As per Citizenship and Immigration Canada guidelines, Operational Bulletins 325B (February 6, 2012)
    and 226 (July 18,2011), applications received after March 31, 2012 must include the following forms:
    
    
    Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship agreement and undertaining IMM1344 02/2012);
    Generic Application form for Canada (IMM0008 02/2012); and
    Schedule A (IMM5669 07-2011) - as opposed to IMM008 Schedule 1 (if applicable)
    
    OLDER VERSIONS OF THESE FORMS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED. To determine the current forms please look for the IMM form number and issue date at the bottom left hand corner of the first page of each form (pictured bellow).
    
    The most current forms are available at (CIC Link)"
    

The IMM 008 and IMM5669 were all in the untouched clear folder. The forms are also properly dated with the most current version on the cic website where I did my application!!!!

IMM1344 is the 02/2012 version. The letter doesn't say if it was MISSING or the WRONG version because it is a formatted letter.

This is VERY VERY annoying.

I had a quick question..... does anyone know if the first police record has nothing in it meaning no convictions no police records at all, do we need to send another one when it expires again or do they also look into the police record from their side as well???

my other question i how long is the police record valid for??

have you all also noticed that they dont update their system weekly??? is there any other way other than cic website to check the exact date they are at????

as well the "by country" step 2 says that they update quarterly, and the last update was January 23, 2012, in my definitions quarterly means every 4 months correct???? we are almost in the 6th month and they have not updated step 2 by country dates and awaiting time... does anyone know where we can get a percise update on that as well?????

That will stay that way for a while ( 90 days timeline for step 1 ). Patience will be learned here.
They open your package around the time they state on their site. You can see what dates they are working on ( Feb. 9th now). You will hear than within a few days after they open your package if your sponsorship is approved. Thats the first time you receive a email from them.

did you actually go to their office????? or did you call them??? is there a number to reach them at directing rather than calling the 1-888 number for cic?????

Thanks again for your reply. I still think their job is to go through ALL the paper work, but they didn't if the logic is that they only look at the sponsor document then the IMM0008 would not be included as it is the sponsored that fills that out.

It would have been nice if they were clear and specific saying if the document was missing or "OLD" as I've said the other thread, the documents were taken right from the CIC website and they were all there.

HOWEVER in the end, agreed if I check with the CIC office next door to me and they say my documents are current then it was an issue of a "missing document"

Current stage 1 processing is 90 days.. so I wouldn't expect anything until end of August. Can happen earlier, but the time has up to that time.

I don't remember but i have read somewhere through the papers they say that the validity of Police certificate is for one year, so you have to ask for a recent one before you send the application package. it is similar to the Medical Examination. they state somewhere, if your processing time is longer that your medical examination you might be asked to undergo another medical check, the same applies for police certificate.

FBI only takes 6-8 weeks. Officially up to 12 weeks to receive.

but I think thats useless, its not our fault if the police record expires in 3 months and CIC's part 1 takes 90 days to complete is it?? I have heard from somewhere that they check the police record if you have nothing they may not ask you to send it again, because I have heard that they too themselves do police checks as well, so its not just based on that piece of paper we send them its also what they investigate as well.

Validity of the police certificates are for one year, but they want the certificate to be less than 3 months old when we submit the application.

We asked for the FBI certificates in February and it took 6 weeks to arrive.

When you receive your AOR, it will have your UCI number in it. However, from what I've read here, not all people receive an AOR. Sometimes, they receive their sponsor's approvals w/o receiving the AOR. The approval letter will also have the UCI number.

I'm not sure about this, but I have heard this from a couple different people, please correct me or if you have any other information please let me know your thoughts.

I have heard that these spousal applications are and should be processed quicker than other applications because by-law its illegal to keep a couple away from each other for such a long period of time, due to many reasons.

This so called "fiance" application used to be processed within 3-6 months altogether, I dont understand why it takes just 90 days for just part 1 to be completed, and thats if we are lucky.

Has anyone else heard about this law about not keeping spouses away from each other for a long period of time as well??

please let me know your thoughts or any information you may have please...
