indeed - it's really hard not to be able to get news, know where/if applications have arrived, etc.
It seems like the reason why there is such a backlog is because in january they switched from the old system to a new one - and anybody applying between january and june got messed up in the process... last year, stage 1 processing time were around 40 to 50 days. Then it jumps to 90/95 days, where it is still at the moment. June and July applicants ( and onwards) should be better off, with the new system ( bar codes etc) sending AOR when the application is scanned into the system after a few days - it will provide reassurance for applicants - and approvals arriving way quicker...
it's sad to see that we got stuck in the middle (I had to wait 91 days to hear from them, so i can relate for sure!)... part of me is happy that things are getting better, for sure, but of course, as nole73 said, it really sucks to see people approved in half the time... but in the long time, it's getting better for all applicants...
My only hope is that... since the VO didn't get so many applications between january and now (as CIC was very slow in the approvals) - they had time to work on the applications that were in the system, and they are all fresh, rested and ready to handle ours when they finally get to the VO!
hang in there - you'll hear from CIC soon, it feels like a very big weight is lifted from the shoulders... ecas ( when it starts working) is a temporary relief because at least you can log into the system and see that the application is there, but not much is happening...
Here hoping that this PR mess will be behind all of us very soon!
Cheers,
Sweden
