It's hard for sure - and being away sucks... but at least once you are approved, you can move and wait out your PR in Canada, that's what I will do as well. London is fast, so you might end up with a shorter stage 2 than stage 1 - keeping my fingers crossed for you, hopefully you hear before the week end or early next week!johare12 said:Thanks! im hoping this is true!
Yeah I'm hoping to do that, especially if London are moving so fast I can handle not working for a few months, but definitely not for 7!Sweden said:It's hard for sure - and being away sucks... but at least once you are approved, you can move and wait out your PR in Canada, that's what I will do as well. Just make sure you have your bank statement, medical insurance and your marriage certificate when you cross the border. They requested all those when i crossed from the states.johare12 said:Yeah I'm hoping to do that, especially if London are moving so fast I can handle not working for a few months, but definitely not for 7!

CanadianJeepGuy said:An interesting chat I just had with CIC (yes I finally got a call through)......
I asked the CIC rep how the applications are processed and he told me that they come in order of receipt. I then asked why then have people who have sent in their applications well after me have already received their AOR. He said that that part of the process is new as of a few months ago. Not everyone will receive one. He also went on to tell me that that "86 day" count starts after they open your file. He then went to check to see if I was in the system yet and as I had imagined no I am not.
Between what I have learned here on the forum and what the CIC rep told me someone is not being completely honest. Who should I believe?

I have no client ID. When it asks for that I just dial "0". How did you get a client ID?alish said:Thats what the guy told me today too...that its up to 86 days after they open the package... but i called in 2 weeks ago the lady told me they had nothing on file for me and told me to call back in 10 days.. i called last week and after dialing cic i hit 1-2-2 then it asked for my client id i punched that in and then they asked for my birthdate year and then the automated system said that they recieved my application on May 10th, something that i didnt get last week ...and then the agent told me i didnt get an aor but my sponsor approval went in the mail today...
its weird how they are working... just try again next week... the guy did mention that next week they will update and the date will be different... so hopefully soon good luck

I'm a Canadian citizen (born here not naturalized). I'm sponsoring my Filipina wife. There is no client ID# anywhere on the imm1344 form. I did not use a lawyer to fill out and submit our application. I did them myself. I submitted our application to CIC in Mississauga and according to the Canada Post tracking number it arrived May 10th 2012.alish said:If you live in Canada and are a permeant resident you should have a client id on your landed immigrant papers or on ur pr card i guess... i had to call cic and request for mine when i was filling out the form imm1344 because it requires it in there... i was told by one of the agents to just put in 88888888 and then validate the form and after i print it white it out.. but i called again the next day and talked to someone much nicer who gave me my client id (ps i am the sponsor) and when i called the automated system asked for my client id thats how i found out...
are you a citizen?? or have a pr?? check and see if u have ur cleint id? or what client id did u use for imm1344???
good luck

I would have thought that once they process your application they send you a client ID. Is this the case? If not how do I get one?
Yes you have one because you already have a file with CIC. That question only applies to PR or naturalized citizens. Unfortunately I was born here.alish said:Yes they do send you a client id not everyone has one.
the reason i have one is because when i filled out the form question #7 on Imm1344 (im 100% cuz i just checked my copy of the form) asked for a client id so i called them to get it thats how i have it.. but they will send you your client id if you dont have one.
