I suggest that everyone take the time to start reading through the Applications after 26/6 thread. You will learn so much from the experiences of others going through exactly what you are now.

hello everyone...very newbie in this forum, been browsing all threads that we can relate.
I guess I belong here. I find all information very helpful.
Our papers were picked-up by courier (UPS) and was received May 6. My husband is the PA (NOC3113) since registered nurse reached its capped already. I was told, by our agency, that transaction through credit card is better and we obliged. Naturally we used theirs.
Now this gives me goosebumps. NOC 3113 is almost 1000 :(.

Hi all I just called CIC to know the status of my application which is recieved by them on 2nd May,they said they don't even opened the packet yet and it would take 8 weeks to review and after that 30 more days to get PER/Ner.............wat is this? >:( :(

Guys done post your personal details, like file No etc online. ABSOLUTELY NEVER do that....

Remove immediately.

Anyways my application was received 15th May. Was held up for a day by Customs for clearance (random screening), though am a bit worried if something gets misplaced or lost.

Anyways I guess the wait begins. Reading from above 2 things I am more nervous.
1-Application completion
2-Demand Draft being cashed without hitch.

I guess the rest is up to our documents / credentials etc.

From reading some of the senior members posts I think that the package is opened same day, and checked for completion, and then DD or CC is sent for recovering money. That takes about 1week to 10 days or so. IF all goes well and they get the Fees, they will scan through the documents, etc and assess for eligibility in details, Marks, NOC in the list, work exp, education, IELTS etc etc, if its positive PER will be issued.

Anyways lets keep our fingers crossed. I will check my DD next week to see if there is any movement.

but why they gave me wrong info........ :(

Not sure bro. May be new policy??? or just wrong info or trying to get you off their back....
But what I read on this forum, people are getting PER within approx 1month (more or less) time.

Also reading other folks credit card charge/DD drawn, its almost under 10 days, that its been done (even for some April/May applicants as well)...SO how can they do it without opening up the package and confirming that the application is complete?

I am not sure what to say what they have told you. May be someone with more info/experience would answer. BUT for the sake of everything that's holy I hope that's not the case.

My application was received on the 9th of may and CC charged (though declined)on the 17th. That confirms the envelope is opened within a week. Though a friend in Canada told me nurses and some highly needed occupations are given faster priority.

That's a good news.....but I am really worried they received my application on 2nd may but still they didn't en cashed my DD yet.........:-(

Give it a week or so dear. Sometimes take time to clear DD etc. Check again with the Bank again in a couple of days. I hope you will hear good news.

Hi,
I also want to join this thread as I am a May application.
My application for NOC 4152 was received by CIO on 19/5/11. Good luck to everyone!

First step is to keep an eye on the Credit Card being charged or Demand Draft being cashed....that is the first step that will show us that things are moving along.
