if you/spouse get a new pp(new pp number) then you must inform your VO. if you just renew(increase validity period) it, then not necessary

Not necessary because Passport Number is the same there is no change all data is same just picture is latest ........so do nt worry........

Sorry to correct you, passport number will be different after renewal .
If he is in Pakistan then LAST DIGIT of his passport number will be changed.
