Take it easy, my friend. You are not alone anyway. Life is moving on no matter the CIC officers work or not. Best wishes to all may applicants. Have a good weekend. :)

:) Hello Friends :)

I friends I know that it is very hard to wait, I did the same like Alizia checking my online banking every 20 minutes during CIO working hours, that was hard to wait. But I was reading one thread by somebody from Buffalo,

He was telling that " I got 10 years of experience dealing with immigration processes of UK , US now Canada. It is not worth for waiting all the time, that is complete waste of time, let CIO and VO do their work , and we need to continue our jobs and other important things and we need to forget about application and try to gather other documents required for next process, these things takes a bit long, only take action when asked"

Then I started doing other things first and the time was moving a bit faster,
Don't worry guys we will get the success, CHEERS :)

agree with that! dont let our time waste by waiting our first AOR or stuffs let the time pass by we will not know one day its already our turn right? its like the more you waiting the more you think why its too slow? lets get busy! =) cheers and GOD BLESS to all!

yeah i agree with you guys.I was scared that my file must have been forgetten or misplaced when i did not get a response after over 80 days now and my consultant(cohen) told me 40=60 days.Reading this posts have relaxed my mind and eased my tension

on the issue of the IELTS.I think it is useless sort of.Why would a person that has over 10 years experience in a formal setting not be able to communicate in english.Or what is the basis of taking the test

Hi guys, wait is really frustrating but it will all be alright in the end. CIO received our application on 3rd May and we are expecting that our CC will be charged before the 3rd August so that the AOR isn't too much after the 3 month average experienced by previous applicants. We think the delay is occuring because the following changes occured to the application procedure in the last 6 months:

  • 10 April 2010:
If applicants prove their language proficiency through written statement rather than IELTS then CIO would not be inviting them for interview if they disagree with the level of proficiency they're claiming. This led to a worldwide surge in applications before April 2010.
  • 26 June 2010:
As a result of the surge in applications and the huge backlog of applications dating back to 2004, CIO then decided that written statements, even for applicants whose first language is English, wasn't such a good idea. So they decided that only IELTS would be allowed from 26 June 2010. Also applicants would send their full applications (including IELTS and supporting documents) directly to CIO in Sydney. AND they hammered the NOC list down from 38 to 29 categories, deciding to fill labour shortages from the huge pool of existing applicants dating back from 2004 who hadn't yet been processed.

We think the last change is quite important with regards to the application time line for pre 26 June 2010 applicants. Basically after 26 June 2010, local visa offices will presumably not be processing applications with full documents supplied as these go to CIO in Sydney now (for post 26 June 2010 applicants). Rather we assume (!) the visa offices will be focussing on the pre 26 June 2010 applicant back log, which obviously includes us May applicants once the full docs are submitted to the visa office.

So in summary, we think (and we could be wrong) that once the dust settles from the recent changes, visa office processing times should return to normal or even improve later down the track. Let's hope so because this waiting games's a killer.

Good luck everyone! We are checking credit card twice per day and will update website straight away to kick off the May applicants list. Hopefully not too long now!

Why is that. If you are looking at Aprils applicants you will see progress happening.
