What about you?
As I mentioned earlier My scores are surprisingly lower than the last test I sat for in Sydney. That was Academic module I had 8.5,8.5,8,8

In India for GT 11 May I got 8, 8.5,7.5,7

I suppose after spending 5 years in Australia I forgot English!
No that’s not the case.

I wrote better essay than I did in Sydney I wrote a very impressive letter of band 8 standard. I don’t know what went wrong.
My speaking was good too.

few days back I compiled my answers and I had mentioned exactly how many of them were wrong L-5 I expected 35/40=8/9
R-1I expected 39/40 = 8.5/9
I got exactly the same

The examiner went nuts I think
Indian English professors are a bit creepy while marking. The Idp markers sometimes are themselves not qualified enough they only have certificates for ESL. For Listening and reading examiner is provided with an answer key. For other two they use their brains....lol

Too disappointed for my score !
Got 8,6,6.5,5.5
I wrote from India and people say British council just makes money out of IELTS which appears to be true ! I couldn’t even imagine in my dreams that I would get 5.5 in writing.
I agree I know few people who complain about BC

As far as I know, at least 2 people should assess speaking and writing. But they all might be biased and have their own interpretations of marking criteria. Also, maybe in India it’s harder because more candidates take IELTS tests and the bar is raised?

Just got results. Finally.
Reached the target, so I do not have to retake this exam.

To my surprise, listening is 8.5 (so I didn’t have more mistakes that I thought)
And reading - 9!!! Unbelievable.

Thank you everyone for support and help in the answers analysis. I hope everyone gets what they want this time!
Did u cross verify listening answers to what's given in this thread?
I matched mine & found 36/40, but I got 7.5 only today...can anyone clarify?

How did u prepare for writing & speaking?
I am stuck at 6.5 in both of them..!!
I think the answer that I posted are correct. Looks like the questions I doubted about are those that are wrong. Also, I think there are 2 different versions of listening.

For q11 & 18 I wrote Tourism & young adults respectively. Can someone with 9 bands confirm whether these are correct or wrong?

I had the same in INDIA for which u posted answers.
What I wrote in my listening (8.5):

L1:
1. history
!!! 2. 10
3. 480
4. 55,
5. June
6. flat
7. farm
8. bird
9. waterfall
10. boat

L2
1-2 Houses that catch fire:
- poor;
- rented;
3-4 Why people don't call for help:
- they are asleep;
- they think they can put out the fire on their own
5-6 Underestimated source of fire:
!!! - cooking oil
- electric overload
7 setting up alarms: people think it is difficult, but actually it is easy
8. plan of evacuation: often postponed
9. cleaning sensors: must be done regularly
!!! 10: free

L3
1. concern about interviews: length of interviews
2. Before the end of April: should finish interviews
3. At the beginning of essay: should give reasons why she chose particular interviewees
4-6. Candidate selection recommendations: different interests; different backgrounds; first-year students
7 identity
8 tastes
9 status
10 memories

L4
1. music
2 photographs
3 exhibition
4 oral
5 course
6 public
7 labor
8 insurance
9 identification
10 newspapers

I think I made 3 mistakes, I marked them with “!!!”. But I might be wrong.

Also, you might have a spelling error or write plural/singular form and they expected the opposite.

I couldn’t prepare this time for any module except listening due to work commitments. I suggest you practice daily from Ielts blog or ielts liz.
I did that for last two tests
How did u prepare for writing & speaking?

This time I couldn’t prepare but for next attempt I would try to do the following
Go to IELTS Blog by Simon
IELTS liz
read the skeleton essays and follow from there

For speaking talk to yourself in the mirror
think in english
when people speak to you try to translate that in your mind!
Write on one Topic daily
