I'm transferring to USaskatchewan and have a conditional acceptance letter for maintaining average and providing a final transcript. I'm transferring to the same program I have in India and my credits have been transferred.
I wanted to know what I can do for an early processing of my visa, apply online or VFS?
I filled the online questionnaire and there is no sign of uploading educational documents or IELTS? Also, no mention of academic documents in the document checklist for VFS?! Why is this?

I still have to take a bank loan which shouldn't take much time, I'll probably apply first week of July. Will that be early enough?

I have a good enough profile.

10th - 8.0 CGPA
12th - 84%
First year of Engineering in India - 73%
Second year of Engineering in India ~ 70%
IELTS - 8.0

You can use Adobe Acrobat and 'combine the files' altogether as one PDF file. You can further upload that file online provided it's under 4MB.

What would be my chances with a conditional offer letter for the same course? Stating I need to maintain an average and provide a full transcript?

Apply for your transcript from the university you currently attend. Then send it to the university in Canada.

You may also include in your letter of explanation the steps you have taken to satisfy the conditions for your admission.

The above is my suggestion and opinion. I advise you independently verify the content.

I would suggest you to apply through VFS and not online. VFS is much faster than online, expect long delays if u apply online (if ur submitting docs online, then u have to combine all ur supporting docs. as one file). Since u have a conditional offer letter submit a good SOP (highlight your achievements and grade during our study terms, anything notable during school days can also be identified, basically anything that shows ur a star student). Since ur a student from India a Scotiabank GIC (check out their website for details) and one semester fees payment is a requirement.

Provide as many educational docs as possible to prove ur qualification (I provided even my college award certificates when I applied for my SP, I got my approval within 1month).

Applying in July should be good enough

1. At the maximum 3 months in advance (India).
2. Just a heads up! You won't get pgwp for the semester/s you have finished outside canada. Only semesters finished inside Canada.

I am not sure whether ur right abt the PGWP. I earned 1yr credits for my graduation back home for my 3 yr course in Canada(mine was not a direct transfer,I went through the process of credit after I arrived in Canada). I received 3yr PGWP( I did 1 yr in class session and 1yr co-op).

So I think as long as he has to complete 2 more academic yrs, he should receive a 3yr PGWP. Correct me if I m wrong

"A student attends a foreign post-secondary institution and transfers to an accredited provincial or territorial post-secondary institution in Canada in order to complete their studies. Under this scenario, if the qualifying educational credential is issued at an institution outside of Canada, they would not qualify for a post-graduation Work Permit. However, if they did receive their educational credential from a recognized Canadian educational/training institution, they may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit only for the length of time they studied in Canada"

What do you mean yous wasn't a direct transfer? Care to explain? Also, I do have to complete 2 years or 3, I can't do any less than 2.

Well since I'm going in September, I'll be applying in the first week of July. Everyone is telling me how that's enough. Thanks for the information about PGWP.

A few questions about your post.

1. How long should an ideal SOP be for the visa process?

2. I don't think GIC and one semester fee payment are "requirements", but they help. Also, I will get a loan of 35-50 lakhs and give all my general bank documents, so tell me if I still need to show any liquid cash in my bank account? And since its a conditional offer, I don't think I'm even allowed to pay the fees for one semester.

3. What do you mean applied for SP? You mean SPP? and what are college award certificates?

Thanks a lot for your earlier reply!

I knew about the transcript part, but you're saying I send an additional letter stating what I did to get that offer of admission?
Is that what you mean? Could you elaborate on your answer?

I completed my BE in India before coming to Canada. I did 2 graduations in Canada, for one of my graduation, since some of the course looked similar to the ones I did during my BE term,I claimed credits for those courses (this is not a direct transfer from my university in India, my courses go through an evaluation process and if required I need to complete a test to gain those credits. Based on my marks and justifications I provided to the evaluator, I was able to gain 1yr credits without any test)

1. In my opinion an ideal SOP, should be 2 pages. I would suggest u to limit it to max of 3 pages if u really have to explain things to the CIC officer, .

2. As far as I did a recent application for my Wife, a Scotiabank Student GIC(given only to Indian student) and 1st sem fees were noted as some of the major requirements for all Indian student. I would suggest you to check CIC website or talk to some consultants or talk to VFS for more information on this ( As far as i researched, due to past fraudulent activities that occurred from India, they have made this a requirement for Indian students). As far as I know Scotiabank GIC replaces the liquid cash requirement. Ur bank loan is another thing, u may go for 50lakhs loan but the only thing u will receive from the bank is a loan approval letter for ur loan amt ( the problem in this is for banks like SBI and other national banks, ur semester fees are released primarily based on ur marks and other bank terms before the start of a sem , this is not a credibility factor for CIC. The question asked is what if u dont perform well and u dont get ur loan released, u will become a burden to Canada, henceforth the Scotia GIC serves as a credibility factor to take care of ur living expenses, arnd 800CAD will be deposited every month fr ur expenses through a 1yr GIC). U have to check with the college on paying one semester fees (as far as i know the college will accept ur payment, eventhough it is a conditional offer, the money will just be credited into ur student number. Most of the colleges will fully refund the money if u havent registered and u were not successful in getting ur SP, check ur college websites international section or send them an email)

3. I came to Canada on SP (Study permit) in 2008 and now they call the initial application process for a study permit as SPP (Student Partnership program,The Canada in India Student Partners Program (SPP) is a joint pilot project between Citizenship and Immigration Canada's visa offices in India and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC)).

4. I was awarded the best project award for my final year project in my university and I also had some certificates I had attained for few seminars. I submitted all these things to increase my credibility as a student.

Since I helped my wife to submit a Study permit application from India recently(2015), I am aware of the requirements and changes in the new application process. If ur going for a bank loan, I suggest u to go through HDFC, simple process but takes long time (not a big difference in the rates compared to nationalized banks and also HDFC gets u a cheque for the complete loan amount as one cheque with Scotiabank. Saves time, hazzle and other unwanted transaction charges).
