Government announced today that all levels of study will need PALs. Private schools like UCW and NEU will be in trouble.

  • The 2025–2026 study permit intake cap will include master’s and doctoral students who will now have to submit a provincial or territorial attestation letter. We will be reserving approximately 12% of allocation spaces for these students in recognition of the benefits they bring to the Canadian labour market.

SOWP will apparently be restricted to 16+ months of Master's.

Since when will this be applicable? From Jan 2025 or a later date?

I am going for the Jan 2025 intake so will this affect me? I have already applied for a study permit
You will have to wait and see if it will be processed. Statement was for 2025 intake but doesn’t say if it changes applications in process.

Hi @Naturgrl I will be applying for PGWP in December, do you know if my spouse will be eligible for SOWP? My program is a 1 year Post-Grad Cert.
