Hello,
I got here because I am confused on how to start my masters journey to Canada.
How do I start the processing of my visa? Or do I take my ielts exam before applying?
Also I do not know where to get schools that are currently undergoing admissions. I've searched the internet but it's not really helping. I am open to schorlaship too, I graduated with a good CGPA for my undergraduate studies.

The thing is, I really want to go into the academic / research line and Nigeria is still far back in that aspect, hence my search to an advanced country in search for knowledge.
Please I'd love any form of encouragement or findings whatsoever.

Thank you sooooo much.

Prepare for academic ielts and give the exam. Get at least 6.5 in each module and atleast 7 overall (depends on the university. Some require atleast 7 in each module and 7.5 overall. So you need to check).

Shortlist universities according to your intended program and requirements. You can apply to multiple universities to be on the safe side (around 90 to 110 Canadian dollars per university application fee). Research based programs usually require you to secure a supervisor before you apply for the program.

Write a one or one and a half page statement of purpose, showing your motivation to study in that particular university, why you chose a particular research area and supervisor, etc etc. (google for more information regarding this or just search this forum).

Universities in Canada have 3 intakes. January (winter), May (summer/spring) and September (fall). Students mostly go for winter or fall intakes as more courses are offered then.

If your intended program in the University is 2 years or more, then you will get 3 years post graduate work permit. If it is less than you either get 1 year post graduate work permit or the number of months your program is. (not sure regarding this, hope others can guide you better with this).

Just google universities in Canada and check each universities admission requirements into your intended program for international students and the documents required. They clearly list down the requirements.

Usually universities ask for official undergraduate degree and transcript. This means your undergrad university will verify and put photocopy of your bachelor's degree and transcript in a sealed envelope, sign/stamp it, and then you send the sealed envelope to your university by mail. Keep in mind, some universities ask for scanned copies of the degree and transcript to assess your admission application, and once you are offered admission, they then send you a conditional letter asking for the official transcript and degree to be mailed to them, as mentioned above.
