Hey All,

I am getting married to my Cuban fiancee in September, and so am in the process of Translating all of my documents, to then submit them to the Cuban embassy for Legalisation.

Does the Cuban Embassy NOT allow a Affidavit of Single Status...to just be ONLY in Spanish?

Does anyone have a Copy of a Single Affidavit...in SPANISH?....that was created here in Canada...and NOT in Cuba? [As the Cuban One: Solteria, is too full of Cuban Legalese and jargon, pertaining to that county].

I did read anecdotaly however, that the Cuban embassy STILL requires a copy in English, along with any Copy in Spanish. I will contact them, but in the meantime, would you know this to be correct? Why would a copy of the Affidavit in English be necessary, when the original can already be submitted in Spanish?

Any information you may have to clarify this....would be greatly appreciated.

All documents submitted to the Canadian immigration authorities must be in English or French, so maybe the Cuban embassy wants to see the translated version (in English) to make sure it is accurate before it certifies it. Not sure, but ....

For marriage in Cuba by a Canadian to a Cuban you need a notorized letter stating you are single it needs to be stamped by Canadian foreign affairs and translated to Spanish. The Cuban's information does not as it will be used in Cuba You also must have the long version of birth certicate stamped and notorized and translated. The Cuban does not. After the documents are stamped by foreign affairs send them to the Canadian Cuban Consolute for translation $32 dollars each. This all the documents that you need to marry a Cuban. He or she needs the single certificate , birth certificate and solteria. Because he is in Cuban for the marriage they do not need to be translated to English. When you do the application for immigration you will need them translated to English.

Omg it sure has increased since 2013 at that time it was $32. At the Cuban consolute in Montreal.I used the Mennonite New Life Center in Toronto to do the ones for the immigration applications they charged $10 per copy and notorized them . Wish I had found them for the marriage. Google the name and give them a call.
