My age is 30 years old.I am commerce graduate in 2001 and I worked as a cook more than 8 years in the restaurant. I married to my father's brother's daughter, i mean i married to my first cousin and she has done masters of information systems. I got IELTS Listening 6, Reading 7, Writing 6 and Speaking 6.5.

MY QUESTION IS AM I ELIGIBLE FOR CANADIAN FEDERAL PR OR NOT? BECAUSE I MARRIED TO MY COUSIN SISTER AND I HAVE DONE B.Com and I WORKED AS A COOK?

There is no problem for immigration if you married to your cousin.

thanks you very much sir for reply me so quickly but my immigration lawyer said you are not eligible because u married to your cousin and you are commerce graduate means basically you studied ACCOUNTING SUBJECTS and WORKED AS A COOK SO YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE ..... sir i trust you that you are telling me truth but please tell me once again that REALLY I AM ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL PR FOR CANADA?

* Trade certification is available but voluntary in all provinces and Territories.

* Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) is also available to qualified cooks.

Additional information

* There is mobility among the various types of cooks in this group.
* Progression to supervisory or more senior positions, such as chef, is possible with experience and training.
* Red Seal trade certification allows for interprovincial mobility.

Your lawyer is wrong. There is no problem in Canada to have changed your career. Several years experience working as a cook makes you a cook, regardless of what you studied before. However, you will still get the points for your education. I was in the same boat as my university degree was not directly related to my occupation and I did not have a problem.

There is also no law in Canada saying you can not marry your first cousin. You can not marry your aunt or niece but first cousin is ok.

I think your lawyer is wrong, I am a civil engineer and have worked in food industrry for the past 10 years I applied as a Catering Manager and received an email that my application will go for further processing to another visa office. What they are asking is for your experience (minimum 1 year).

I am sorry but this is for my younger brother. He is planning to go to Canada on PR basis thats why he put this question. I am agree with you that I am cook and no problem with that. i am sorry my dear friend.
