I live in Montreal and my girlfriend is in Philippines.
She will graduate as a medical laboratory technician this march then she plans to get a job to get experience for 2 years and then
she plans to apply to come to work in Canada as a skilled worker.(that gives her a PR status right?)
But if they deny her, since it's very competitive... so i'm wondering maybe i should marry her now, in Philippines, and sponsor her ASAP. Because waiting 2 years is already hard on me. Wouldn't want to extend that.
But would her education count here or will she need to re learn? She really loves her job and i want her to be accomplished.
But if they do permit her to come as a skilled worker, in 2 years, will the fact of her mentioning me, deny her entry because immigration officers will fear that she might marry me here, inland?
I also want to mention that i was on welfare for a year and recently got a job, 3 months ago.
I am no longer on social services, since 3 months already. Been working all this time. Full time.
How long do i need to keep this going before applying?
Their official conditions state that you only need to be off welfare to qualify and there's no exact income requirement or duration of employment.
I hope my past history of unemployment doesn't prevent me from sponsoring her in case that's what your advice suggests.
No idea what to do... what would my options be?
Any advice is very appreciated. Thank you guys.
