Hi guys, Just out of curiosity....to those married couples who applied for sponsorship did cic ever ask you for more evidence during the process? Please share what more evidence they wanted :)

We were not asked for additional evidence. But we provided a great deal of evidence up front

still waiting to find out!!! file was sent to VO 5 weeks ago and nothing yet.....but I did send a 10kg box of proof....LOL....

Just out of curiosity...how much did it cost to send that huge box?

We submitted additional proof without being asked. The additional proof was proof of visits my husband made after we submitted our application, additional proof of financial support and commingling of our finances, some more pictures of us spending time with my family, and some chat logs detailing our conversations during some events that happened while we were apart.

$22.00 overnight delivery canada post....I was happy with that!!!!

We have not been asked for anything more but we are still waiting approvl.... but after reading threads here I am sure we will be... my package weighed 0.371 kg so thats under a pound :-\ we were trying to do the to the point short and sweet version but I'm beginning to think there is no such thing... I sent 1 picture for every year we were together so 13 plus wedding photos. copies of plane bus and rental cars over that period as well I did not include any chat records or emails that was 13 yrs ago I have had atleast 4 computers in that time. Honestly I just didn't know what else to send 13 years 2 kids if that isn't proof we have a bona fide relationship I dunno what will.... in any event I suspect they will request more info and prolly an interview....

Our application also hasn't been opened at the Visa Office yet, so not sure if they will want more proof, but we sent lots. Phone bills, emails, about 200 pictures, copies of my passport/visas, boarding passes, 10 notarized letters from family and friends both in Canada and Colombia stating their knowledge and support of the relationship. I'm a bit different in that I moved to Colombia to be with my wife during this process, so that obviously adds to the genuineness (is that a word?) of the relationship.

I'd actually say that's highly unlikely, in your case. An American/Canadian couple married several years ago with children? Nope, not likely. If they ask you for anything, it might be additional proof of re-settlement. Other than that, nada.

We did the same >< not a lot. So im sending more just to be safe but ya it depends on the case and lenght of relationship, you cant always send a lot.I just noticed we could have done more, so I will send what we missed, things we didnt think about before.

I will keep sending as much evidence as possible to avoid delays :) Believing for the best:-)

Yes!
Better safe than sorry.. ;)

We did not sent at all, we thought its enough already what we sent already (one year of realtioship, 5 vacations spended together inculding the wedding and honeymoon) it wasn't enough.

I got an interview convocation, I passed it but the delays becouse of it are amazingly long.

Now I am waiting for a medical extension, its not over yet :-\.

Best of luck!

I'm hoping for the highly unlikely. .. We just got married April 7th of this year, never actually lived together in that 13 year period. I visited very often weekends, weeks, few months at a time. I am sure thats all in the system as I have been denied entry on more then 1 occasion in that 13 years... but our kids are 9 and 7 and of course their birth certificates were included.

Thanks KJG! We have had our ups and downs but thats part of a strong relationship. I will admit I have to get used to the "living" together part once my visitor records runs out it will be the longest period we lived together... sharing bathroom space sucks once I get PR and am able to work we definitely need a bigger master bath LOL

but being together now has given us the chance to have even more family photos as we are able to go out and enjoy our family time together every weekend and our 9 yr old loves being able to take pictures.

That's what worries me....i dont want to have delays or interview. And i see we could have done more, so i send more now soon. Our application have been transfered about 2 weeks ago. And still im worried it could be not enough. Some really send not a lot and still got through, you just never know, sometimes it is enough. Guess it depends on the officer there maybe too. But i will try what i can for now, at least i tried and hope for the best.
