Marriage outside of Canada

Hi,

My spouse and I have been together since 04. We just married in Dec 09, in China. Does Canada recognize the marriage registration from China?
I was just going over the checklist and saw, "point 14, photocopy of marriage certificate".

Additionally we were both issued a marriage certificate, hers was translated to English and notarized in China, would that be acceptable or would I have to have my certificate translated and notarized as well in Canada?

It is absolutely acceptable. As long as you have a notarized translation it is all good.

Agreed. The notarized one from China is fine. No need for it to be notarized in Canada.
