Hello,
I was married in the Philippines before migrating to Canada. Became a Canadian Citizen after 3 years as PR, filed divorced after 5 years as a citizen.
Here are my questions; can I get married in the Philippines and marry a single Filipino Citizen and apply to sponsor the said person, or is it better for the person to come to Canada and get married here then apply to change the status from visitor to family sponsor applicant?
Your legal advice is highly appreciated
Thanks,
Lee

You should file a "judicial Recognition of Foreign Divorce Decree" on the Regional Trial Court in the area in which you are married.
