Hi Myrah and others,

This raises a new question in my head:

I read on the guide that only if the original of the certificate is in a non- english language, only then the translated photocopy has to be notarised.

Or is it that every photocopy of every document like education certificate, birth certificate, marriage etc, all of them have to be notarised even if the originals of these above said documents are in English

Pl clarify
I do believe that all translated english/french document must be original and notarized. All other documents can be photocopies or notarized copies. But if they are not written in English or French, they must have original translated english/french notarized document with it.

Dear Allura, Screech, Myra and others, Thank you so much for providing your valuable feedback.

I just want to make sure that even for New Delhi, only photocopy of marriage certificate is needed and not original.

The reason I ask is - among all the people who replied to my post, only Myrah is of NDVO, rest is all Vegeville. So I want to be sure

I have one more question:

In the Spouse questionnaire (which I am filling up for my soon to be spouse whom iam going to sponsor), in question 24, 'Has your sponsor visited you', I am answering that I did visit my spouse for the actual marriage ceremony for 2 weeks.

Then we move to question 27, where they ask 'Have you and your sponsor lived together?', what do we put here? I do plan to live with my spouse after marriage in my parent's house for 2 weeks and then I plan to return back to Canada. Should I put
'yes, sponsor lived with me'
or
since I just was with my spouse for 2 weeks only, should I put
'no, sponsor did not live with me'

Pls advise

I would go with no, sponsor did not live with me. In the strict sense, you are visiting for 2 weeks to get married. Only time you lived together is if your name is on the lease of rental apartment, joint deed on house, joint bank account, etc. These are proof that you are actually living together.

There is no difference whether you apply inland or outland. You must still include any original documents as required by applicants from the Philippines.

I see that the website has updated quite well. Now it asked where you are residing now and what's your nationality. This will then customize your document requirements based on nationality. I ran the scenario on the website with her being in Canada and Philippines as her nationality. It came back listing what documents has to be originals. Nicely done.

I didnt have problems in my birth cert but me and my husband did get married in ontario. And we have a ontario certificate.
Do we still have to follow original in marriage cert tho me and my husband get married in canada?

The requirement states an original certificate if it is from the Philippines. Yours isn't.

The marriage certificate is from Ontario, not Philippines. So a photocopy of marriage certificate is fine.
