Marriage certificate of parents

My parents got married long time ago in India and does not have marriage certificate and the application asks for one. Is notary or affidavit fine instead? Has anyone submitted affidavit instead of marriage certificate?

hi... I am in the same boat... Does any one know if affidavit would be sufficient?

In most countries you can still go and get a copy of the certificate since it will be recorded somewhere in the government's system. Can you do that?

I have the same question . We got a visitor visa based on that Affidavit, so the same rule should apply for sponsorship too
