Marriage Certificate Error

I'm a naturalized Canadian and married my girlfriend in the Philippines. While we're gathering the necessary documents for her sponsorship we noticed that there was a mistake on my citizenship, instead of Canadian they wrote down Filipino. I inquired with Philippine Statistics Authority and they said I have to make a petition through the court and I'll have to be there personally. Question is, will this be a big problem with CIC and cause refusal for our application, even though I acquired a Statutory Declaration in the Canadian embassy in Manila? They also made a mistake with my parents citizenship, good thing is they are dual citizen. Thanks for your inputs.

this name is very familiar...hmmm....

i have no knowledge regarding this matter. but my advice is call CIC now and ask them the best solution for this. if you've already submitted your application, wait for your AOR then call them and use your application number.

if you haven't submitted your application yet, call PSA, have them correct their mistake and start the application process again. i'm pretty sure you don't have to appear personally. know a good lawyer in the Philippines and let him handle this case for you.

Thanks for you input.

I did contact PSA and that's what they told me is that we need to file a petition through the court. We also inquired with a lawyer and they told us it's a long process and would be expensive. I'll call see CIC and see what they think.

I'm also trying out here, if any had the same experience and what happened to their application. Thanks again.
